Does anyone else ever think about Eddie learning that music of all things is what can "save" people from Vecna?

Eddie Munson, who was already torn up with survivors guit over what happened to Chrissy, realizing just how easily that he of all people could have saved her.

Its like the worst kind of poetic irony

Timeless

Time is a finicky mistress. Across countless timelines, Five and Lila try to find each other—sometimes they succeed, most times they don’t... Follow them as they navigate through the complex stages of realisation that the universe has a bigger plan for both of them.

Each of us have written a stage. Some are one shots, some are multi-chapters. All standalone fics, all finding Five and Lila in the worlds when they manage to find each other.

The first stage, written by the gorgeous @monfivela

He was a slumdog—the son of the Fourth District butcher.

She was the apple of the Capitol’s eye, the sole heiress to the Head of the Council.

They met, and no matter how much they denied it, there is something inescapable about the pull between them.

The world might try to keep them apart, but they would always find their way back to each other—again and again, until the very end.

The amazing @silverywolf14 is up next. Of course her contribution is an angst filled multi-chapter. We wouldn't expect anything less from her.

Fate has a twisted sense of humor—especially when it comes to people who think they’ve got life all figured out. Lila, a confident, athletic, and sharp aspiring detective with a loving family and the best sister anyone could ask for, thinks she knows exactly what she wants. But everything changes the day she saves a mysterious boy from a gang attack—an encounter that sets off a chain of events neither of them could predict. Follow their story across more than a decade, as friendship, love, romance, fate, and buried truths collide in ways that will change them forever.

CAR UPDATE!

So, *finally* got a chance to take the goddamn car into the shop to be inspected. People donated something $850 to the GFM, and I genuinely appreciate it because there is no other way I would have been able to afford to take it in.

… anyway, turns out it can’t pass inspection.

Let’s start simple. It needed (that I knew of) a headlight bulb replaced, new brake pads and rotors, and an oil change. It turned out it also needs a new windshield wiper, a ball joint, and a couple of filters. That will come to $970.

So, Jennifer, why can’t it pass inspection?

Because the subframe is rotted. That’s why.

How much does a subframe cost? Oh, $2000.

There’s not much I could have done to stop the subframe being rotted. With where I live and park, that’s not a shocker. Still, I do not have $2000. There’s no amount of cutting back on streaming services or the little things that’ll make $2000 magically appear. SO. GFM, it is.

Gimme a little time and I’m going to see about editing the one I have set up to add this new info. And then I’m going to get SO fucking high.

Okay, here’s the updated GoFundMe. Raised it up to $3000, with something like $855 already donated and paying for the repairs I’m getting today. Please share as much as possible. More eyes, more chances to help.

And now I shall pay the dog tax.

1083/3000

Another day, another share of the GFM! Please spread this far and wide! Partly because it would really help me out, and partly because I have an absurd amount of pictures with which to pay the dog tax. Please enjoy Professor Huckleberry Elizabeth Pancakes III.

@disasterarea-podcast is an amazing and you should all go and listen straight away! But also the very lovely host is having car issues, so sharing for visibility. But also, her dog is the CUTEST so enjoy the doggo tax

“what’s your dream job” im so glad you asked. picture this. i am the lone employee of a strange and mysterious tchotchke/bookshop in the middle of nowhere, full of fun and interesting things that i am allowed to take for the low low price of free of charge. i get one, exceedingly interesting, customer per hour. i work no more than twenty hours a week and am salaried 3 million dollars

And it's by the sea. And has coffee. And good WiFi.

I know drawing takes effort and time, but it's better to draw badly and in your own way than to use quick-dopamine ai shit

I'd rather read 1001 badly written stories than a single generative AI one.

I love knowing how much time and effort incredible artists (including you in this!!) put into their work, that's what makes it special. That's what makes it unique and worthwhile and ART.

It's why I know I'm not amazing, but I keep trying. Because the process is what makes the art. Art isn't the finished product. It's the time, the creativity, the love for it that goes into it. That's what makes it truly beautiful

Uh. Thanks for sharing your opinion, and if it offended you, I’m sorry…

Anyway, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with using AI, as long as it’s stated that it’s AI-generated. Using images or texts and claiming them as your own is, of course, very low. And I definitely don’t support that!

That said, I’m not going to pretend to be some moral authority here. Don’t like it? I understand and respect that. Personally, I enjoy exploring what AI can do these days. That’s all it means.

If the majority of the audience has a problem with it and it seriously offends all followers, I’ll delete it.

I think for me the problem is inherent to how fandom exists. It's built on a community of people giving their time, effort, energy and creative endeavours for the love of a show, a book, an artist, a ship. That space only exists because of creative input. The fics, the art, the edits. All of them exist because a human somewhere went you know what, I love this situation/story/couple so much that I want to tell everyone about them. I want to create more of them and put it out there into the world for people to enjoy.

I saw some of the filter generated images in another area of my life I enjoy and thought they were cute and shared them. Because I assumed they were created by a human. Because that's the default, and that's what the default should be. When I realised, I called myself out on it and deleted them.

Don't get me wrong, the anime filters create something gorgeous, but in doing so they are negating the work of the original artists who have stated they don't want their work used to feed into these models. And potentially putting people off from creating art themselves. Imagine if you'd poured hours of work, for free, for nothing more than the love of a story, for an artwork, only to have it replaced by something that AI can manage in a couple of minutes. Or if someone took a story you were halfway through and asked AI to complete it?

The currency of fandom is that labour of love. And we just outsourced it to something that doesn't care.

Your first pride story was touching and all but you still married a man.

Yeah, bisexuals do that sometimes.

Just gonna reblog this again. For reasons.

OP's tags on this are worth posting too. Especially that last part. Read them again if you have to

sometimes i like a ship not because of inherent chemistry between the characters, but because of the character development the ship implies. for X and Y to get together in a believable and meaningful way, X would have to go through this character arc and Y would have to go through that character arc. I'm interested in the narrative that'd lead up to them getting together, and so I'm interested in the ship

Eugh so much of this. Especially when either that development never gets to happen, or happens off screen in a way we only get to see glimpses of. So much potential, so much fun space to play around with and write in and explore. Le sigh 😍
