Mother Dearest

Caldwell's omniscient, albeit absent, mother. She's self-absorbed and holds little regard for anyone around her, including her own son who she views as little more than a complete stranger. She interfered in things she had no business meddling with, which often got her in trouble. She passed away some hundred years ago, some say her soul was obliterated by a higher power for her frequent overstepping. Caldwell did not grieve her death.
