The car ride was tense.

Yoongi went with Jungkook and Jimin went with Namjoon.

They were bringing a squad of 45 people, armed and ready to hunt the hunters.

Yoongi was driving while Jungkook looked out the window. He was belted up with kevlar to ensure his safety, but looking at him he just looked like the young, scared man he was.

“You really love her huh?” Yoongi said.

“Yes, Jimin and I both do,” Jungkook answered without looking towards the older male.

“How?”

It was quiet for a moment before Jungkook spoke.

“She’s very selfless, but doesn’t know when to stand up for herself sometimes. She’s sweet, and caring in a way that isn’t outright. She’s really observant. I-I know it sounds silly but she meshes with Jimin and I so well that it’s almost scary. The idea of losing her now, I-I can’t even think that way,” Jungkook choked.

The guards separated you and Taehyung shortly after the wedding feast.

You were whisked away by the handmaidens and taken up to a different portion of the palace. You were no longer in your own wing, no, this was different. They shoved you into another bath, scrubbing exceptionally hard.

“Ouch! Hey, watch it!” you growled.

“Shush, you are about to be presented to the Prince and you need to be as perfect as we can get you,” one maid said.

You bit your lip. There was aggression in their movements. They were either jealous or angry that a ‘savage’ like you was going to bed their beloved Prince. How utterly ridiculous. Taehyung was probably going to be far too frightened to bed you.

They wrapped you in pretty fabric, but it was easy to undo. You tried to calm your racing heart as they fluffed your hair lightly, but kept it wet.

This was what you had been waiting for since the semester began. Seeing as how you were one of the few Performing Arts majors in the class. The only other one being your friend Taehyung, who was equally excited at the announcement. The rest of the class groaned in annoyance. The thought of having to be in a play in a drama class somehow putting them off.

You’d hit the 16 week mark and the boys were begging for you to get another ultrasound so they could see the babies better. And by the boys, you mean Jungkook.

“Please Y/N! I want to see them, they’re so small here. I know they’re getting bigger, look at you!” Jungkook cooed, palming your stomach gently. You huffed before nodding slowly.

“Alright alright, make the appointment and I’ll go,” you sighed, rubbing your face in exhaustion. You hadn’t been sleeping well recently, cramps and insomnia running rampant through your body.

Jimin came over with some food for you, placing a gentle hand on your shoulder.

“Here you are, Y/N, bagel with cream cheese and mustard,” he smiled brightly.

“You’re so sweet, thank you,” you smiled.

“I’m sweet too! Why don’t you compliment me?” Jungkook pouted. You rolled your eyes and laughed.

“Kook, honestly,” you laughed. However, you froze in panic as you realized Jimin’s nickname for his partner slipped out of your lips.

You sat, staring out your window. Your hair was still wet, but you had put it down now. Elaine had suggested starting a bath and getting in, but you didn’t want to do it at the moment.

She sighed but acquiesced and left you alone.

You really missed home. Your heart ached at the loss of your family; your people.

You wish there was some way you could hear your mother’s voice. Feel her fingers stroking through your hair on the last night you were with her. It made you feel so alone, so utterly and heartbreakingly alone. There was nothing for you in this place.

Perhaps this is how Taehyung felt that night before you hauled him from the balcony in a frenzy. You couldn’t help but snort at the lunacy of the whole ordeal. Taehyung was dreamy eyed and pliant then.

At this luncheon, he was anything but.

Demanding things of you. Protecting that woman over you, choosing her side…
