God, I love it when people who clearly have personal experience or expert knowledge on certain things write obscure AUs that incorporate those things so hyperspecifically that I feel like I'm learning something.

I love nurses who write hospital AUs that have accurate medical knowledge just thrown in there because they went to medical school and when people who clearly had a phase where they obsessed over a certain time period write an AU set in that time period or location it's just so fun.

Tell me about the 1950s Chicago culture and history and how the characters are interracial and how that affects their life, I love when the money is accurately converted and the personal histories of the characters are thoughtfully woven to incorporate the new setting they're put in, I love it when people care so much about making something and use their own expertise to aide them.

Chanel, awakened as the hopeful one of the sages and protectors of the Stone Tower Temple, trapped within an area only accessible when the entire temple itself was inverted.

Previously forced to inhabit the temple as the other half of the monster of the canyon, Twinmold, the Hero of Time Dege heals the curse on him and his other half so he may awaken as the Sage of Body. Chanel wants nothing more than to help, hoping his ethereal Light Arrows will make a big difference. He intends to be a symbol of light and hope once the whole ordeal is over, if they survive.

I started some character sketches for my horror side project. I always want to elaborate on it more but I'm a little scattered and worn, so if there's interest, I'll do some character and storyline posts. Or a side-blog if I have enough cohesive material?

The (really simplified) basic plot is a woman's brother suddenly disappears when they move to a new town, and she ends up falling into its occult, nightmare-like underbelly looking for him. An Alice in Wonderland type of story, but anchored between surreal, meaty dream horror and a sort of rustic realism?

*Update*: Made a sideblog for the project! Will post the name when I've finished it. I'm going to release it as a development blog and wiki - with concept art, details and plot elements. Eventually every character and chapter will have a proper tag so you can learn the whole story.

I think this will be more fun than throwing it all immediately into a formal piece of media. And on the Tumblr version I can post memes and Q&A. c:
