Hello!
Awww, thanks! I don't do anything special, to be honest - I think one of the key things that affects how they look is that I use a lighting mod that makes the outdoors brighter (and the sky more blue) as well as a "dynamic shadows" mod. I also adjust the brightness and contrast of each screenshot using the Curves tool in Photoshop. Then I adjust the colour balance a bit to make the colours slightly warmer and more saturated! Basically you need to set the Chance of Bin Offspring to a higher number in StoryProgression (in Lots->Immigration) I think? And have a few families saved to the bin that you like the looks of! The townies will be generated based on them, then. Here is a thread that gives more details! and here, too.
