whenever characters have a weird dad and a missing/dead/unmentioned mom the fandom tendency is to assume she's normal to balance it out. but it's always valid to instead assume she matched his freak. that she was freakier. if canon won't give you enough insane women to work with it's always morally correct to fill in the blanks with your own

You can include as many prompts in your work as you want! Posting occurs April 21 through April 28!
FAQs // Guidelines
1. This event is open to Akatsuki fans 18+! This is because …
• blood
• gore
• graphic // canon-compliant violence
• nsfw content
Are allowed BUT must be published Under the Cut.
2. No bashing will be tolerated whatsoever.
3. All content must focus on at least one Akatsuki member! This can include…
• Main Akatsuki members
• OG // First Generation // Ame - Specific Akatsuki (this includes Six Paths characters!)
• Previous/Interchanging Members (Yahiko, Orochimaru, Obito, Madara, ect.)
• Team Taka members
4. Absolutely NO adult/minor content. Aged up/same age/both adults AUs are fine.
5. Akatsuki/Sakura is allowed, but the focus must be an Akatsuki member - not Sakura (and Rule #4 applies).
6. OCs can be included, but a canon Akatsuki member must be the focus.
7. You can include non-Akatsuki canon characters (I.e: “X as an Akatsuki member”) but a canon Akatsuki member must be the focus.

it amuses me so much that in reborn au yahiko is the only non-time traveler who is in on the secret because the (non-tori) akatsuki would never expect pein and konan to be the people who talk. if you asked the rest if them they'd be like, "selling predictions of the future to people is how tori gets by," or "hidan doesn't know how to shut up." but they can actually keep a secret just fine. meanwhile yahiko konan and nagato are having a group hug and sharing everything they know. nagato cries.
oh the one hand this made me laugh, because YES you'd think konan and nagato are the last to do this. like you'd THINK cover being blown would be like, idk, deidara screaming something in a fit of anger. or like i guess plasticityverse akatsuki doesn't know this, but sasori's last words were kind of him being like "you know what? fuck it. sakura, you're the only bitch i respect, let me tell you some shit--" so even HE is more likely to blow cover
ON THE OTHER HAND. imagine you meet who you think is your ex-boss and he's like "oh you must be one of those time travelers. yeah no my buddy nagato-- that's your "leader-sama"-- was just piloting my corpse the entire time you knew him. yeah weird right? anyway im not a corpse this time around (peace sign)"

found this in my drafts, regarding an AU where kushina and naruto die but minato lives (and finds out deidara is his oops baby from a random wartime hook up):
btw since i can't sleep..... in the oops baby au, bc kushina AND naruto die, this is what happens to the kyuubi ->
- kushina seals it into herself and dies. so it will reform eventually but they don't really know when or how
- minato is not doing well mentally but he can't exactly sleep on the kyuubi issue because god forbid it kill more people he's responsible for or another village grabs it before konoha can reclaim it
- because he's not doing well the following seems like a good idea to him: there's rumors of uzumaki in grass. he will simply go get one of them
- sarutobi is like "do you need me to temporarily step in while you grieve.... oh you stole a woman and her baby? that's what we're doing? okay i guess" (he ALSO lost his wife so he's not like. enthusiastic about coming out of retirement.)
- karin's mom is annoyed and afraid but also grass was starting to Get Weird on her and she's trying to see the bright side so she's like. okay what is the catch
- the catch is they're gonna seal a demon into your baby, ma'am
- minato cries about it bc he's Unwell and she's like. ummm okay can i get a better apartment then
- minato is clearly just slightly unhinged about the whole thing but also he's pretty good at being like "you need housing? you have housing. you want a bigger stipend? sure."
- so karin and her mom are just in the village but it never comes up. shhh
is it already well known on tumblr that if you tag someone in an unrebloggable post, they and only they can reblog it, or were @tozettastone and i meant to figure that out ourselves with a series of tests
