Destiel DTIYS Challenge

i always thought it would be fun(ny) to do a lifeguard au because what else am i going to do with my past lifeguard experience, and @archervale's piece fucking got me. aside from killer shading with markers, it's a great tableau. their asses are NOT guarding.

dean and cas making out in the guard room and all their coworkers talking shit behind their backs ftw (real event).

well well well what's this another thing for the @destieldtiyschallenge? why yes it is, imagine that. this one's for you I'm afraid @j-k-t-e because your coffee shop idiots drawing with the horribly horrible bad effort requiring background just looked like fun so oh no I've redrawn it

as predicted the background was horrible but in a weirdly fun kind of way. I think the hardest part might've been getting the sweaters right actually because my lines are so thick that it's hard to add a bunch of details. I did rearrange some things and totally didn't flip Cas' name tag upside-down for important reasons but yeah bam, coffee shop stuff

(also I know the redraw challenge is supposed to be coming to a close but I have a couple of projects for it in the works so I'm just gonna ignore that it's ending I think enjoy that knowledge (and apologies in advance for anyone that wouldn't want their art redrawn after the deadline sorry I'm slow and maybe took on too many projects they just look so fun and I have no self-control gjfkfifi))

the way @mischieviem drew wings with harsh lighting and so many colours was incredible so i tried my hand at it for @destieldtiyschallenge. a different vibe than the original (which i can stare at for more than i already have), but i'm glad i challenged myself with the colouring!

oh look a thingy for the @destieldtiyschallenge. this year's model is called uh idk whatever @beansprean called this silly masterpiece that's kinda old but I thought it was kinda funny and recreated it

I'm awful at drawing couches, people sitting, Cas squinting (idk why it just never looks quite right), cowboy hats, and people sitting on couches, so I naturally recreated a thing with all of these things. I say recreated because I did change some things a little. nothing major but I did use the wrong camera size which meant I had to draw their legs (which was death never again oh no) and idk I just kinda kept losing the spirit of the redraw from there. accidentally and stuff probably

I've secretly been waiting for a chance to draw Dean and Cas in matching pajamas, because what goes better with hotdogs than hamburgers something something America. also I couldn't figure out what 'Wyatt Corp' was and Google wasn't helpful so I did leave that part out (sorry)

okay so you know how sometimes you see something and your last braincell spontaneously combusts? that happened to me when I saw what @szlez does, and I had to repurpose the lineart I scrapped from that previous @destieldtiyschallenge post I did of @sailorsally's art into a linocut. process and fussing under the cut.

It's @archervale time! I have been obsessed with the original ever since it was posted. Like, I think about it a lot.

this was gonna be an entry to the @destieldtiyschallenge based on this post by @impmakesart but the drawing kinda took on a life of its own and turned into this,,,, i still rly like it tho so im posting it :P

another thingy for the @destieldtiyschallenge in which I saw this piece featuring witch!cas and some flavor of familiar!dean (I admittedly can't tell what he's supposed to be uh idk I assumed a wolf because of the color of the...fur(?) but now I'm not sure and that might actually be a coat um) that @shedarart did and thought 'I could make what's clearly supposed to be a somewhat sensual piece or whatever kinda ridiculous if I did it in my style' and well here that is

and here's my silly recreation before and after I remembered my drawing app has a glow effect (I liked both flavors). yeahh my style isn't great for serious pieces but it did make this one ridiculous in a fun way so that's nice. Cas being all serious leaning over the cauldron while Dean does...that is weirdly funny to me idk

having details like this in the background probably doesn't help if I was going for serious but luckily I never am so we're good

I recreated this awesome piece by @ajcrowlor for the 2024 @destieldtiyschallenge!! I had so many ideas and found I was not very good at implementing them, but I love the dichotomy of this piece, the emotion of it really stood out to me and I'm not sure I did it justice. I don't really have a 'style' per say but maybe I will find it if I keep on drawing ^.^ You can find my piece here in better quality, seems tumblr didn't like my file size.

@sailorsally , potentially the horniest person on my dash, drawer of amazingly broad shoulders, whom I eviscerated last week. Sorry maybe for implying that there were never any marbles 😘

my attempt of DTIYS-ing this shiny piece by @sailorsally for @destieldtiyschallenge. I started over twice, and ended up not being able to figure out how to add the glowy healing hands without mucking up what I already had, and I didn't want to start over a third time. also, joke's on y'all, I don't have a style.

I did the first of an unspecified number of art redraws for the @destieldtiyschallenge in which I recreated @blue-eyed-cutiepatootie-art's destiel cowboy piece because yes

rekindled my hatred for drawing horses on this bad boy because horses are awful to draw and the only things stopping me from making uh like a lot more destiel cowboy stuff tbh because what's a cowboy without a horse (actual question). I also discovered I can't draw cowboy hats so maybe it's good that horse thing is holding me back. also this may be the first destiel cowboy piece I've done

after much debating as far as the coloring went I decided to go with my regular colors and then made it super warm or something on the Google photo viewer app. I tried to recreate the affect on that app but can't figure out how I got it pink even five minutes later. I really went back in within minutes and couldn't figure out what I might've done to get it like that in the first place ://

either way I added both versions please don't look at the horses (which I based on the Impala and Cas' Lincoln, similarly to how Dean and Cas' outfits are kinda based on what they wore in That Episode (13.06's Tombstone)) too closely we've already established horses are awful to draw ,_,
