everything's coming up milu! [horizon]

Horizon series, rated G, ~2K words

Well, it turns out—Meridian is absolutely terrifying! Okay, terrifying is probably the wrong word. It’s not like getting caught in an angry storm as it sweeps over the plains, or the wild panic that choked her the first time a Burrower took out her hearing. Terror comes on purpose—it means there’s something to fight against, or run from. And you’re not really supposed to be terrified of something you wanted. Something you chose. Right? So, Milu is not terrified. Milu is—incredibly uncomfortable. Very lonesome. Feeling like a sprout stuck in the shade.

Homesick and losing sight of her big dreams, Milu struggles to find her footing in Meridian. Luckily the Sunhawk of the Hunters Lodge is there to take her under wing.
