Yasser was 16 years old. His father, Oun Alareer, was tortured to death in an Israeli prison before Yasser was born.  With that haunting revelation comes Oun's story, one that is etched into the fabric of our collective memory to serve as a stark reminder of the enduring human spirit—unyielding in the face of adversity—and of the profound impact that one life, one absence, could have.  Since the Israeli occupation of East Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip in 1967, about 237 Palestinian detainees have reportedly been murdered with torture, medical negligence, or execution during arrest or an attempt to escape prison.  Four Palestinian prisoners passed away in Israeli jails while on hunger strike, the last of whom is Khader Adnan, who died in administrative Israeli detention on May 2, 2023. Administrative detention is when Israel detains Palestinians indefinitely without trial or charge, usually for renewable six-month periods. Adnan is the first person—that we know of—to die from a hunger strike in Israeli detention since 1992. Months after his death, Israel still holds Adnan prisoner. [x]

the infidelity not that serious to me in challengers i’m sorry. after patrick was literally like tashi throwing the match for art would be more UNFORGIVABLE than them fucking. these are crazy insane people. and then the reveal that art KNEW the whole time that they fucked in atlanta. and he didn’t say SHIT. like he was up! it was his turn to move and he didn’t. and then tashi and patrick Fucking again literally being the Catalyst of THE FINAL SCENE that brings it back Full Circle. bc this time patrick told art straight up and he’s in on the secret now. they are crazy insane people‼️ being like “these 2 are bad bc they cheated” is so boring and misses several points. we need to thank tashi for fucking that man. and that man for yapping about it bc art was NEVER gonna take the initiative on his own to get the band back together

Facts! Art literally needed her to do that because he basically asked her to say she's leaving if he loses to light a fire under his ass, and it doesn't because he doesn't believe her. Her actually smashing Patrick provoked the needed emotion to make him stop being emo and play some tennis like he means it. All three characters were a mess when they broke up, and things had gotten so dry between Art and Tashi that on first glance, it looked like they were exes who were simply in a business relationship. On his own in the world, Patrick was both too unmotivated to win like he should and also clearly depressed. The only time we see him happy is with his crazy exes lol.

because they all love and hate each other to varying degrees like patrick loves tennis and tashi and art but art the most and art loves tennis and patrick but he loves tashi the most and tashi loves tennis the most but none of them can have the thing they want most so they use one another to get closer to it and in the aftermath end up resenting each other for what could have been

for some reason i can't stop thinking about how, after the cops cleared out hind's hall, they brought all the students one by one in front of news cameras, faced them towards the camera and ripped their masks off. i remember some, perhaps with genocidal parents, desperately trying to keep their heads angled down and away from the camera's gaze. some calmly stared it down. i only watched a few.

to me it symbolizes the essential unity of the repressive apparatus; the nominally independent media company and the equally nominally independent municipal police department uniting to keep the colonial machine going, no matter the cost, but there was also something almost pornographic in the unmasking. one wonders how many of the nypd officers ripping off the protestors' masks fantasized about doing the same to regular american civilians during the height of the pandemic.

Every time I step into a retail store my head spins thinking about the insane excess of everything and the amount of human suffering that it took to get it here. genuinely vile. the amount of perfectly usable items thrown away for the sake of profit, and the number of people who could be fed or clothed with them. like. how does anyone feel like this is normal
