I'm updating my old pinned post because it was silly but not especially informative.

I use the queue to spread out my posts. Currently, I have 1 post queued a day. I do post when I feel like it though.

If you want to call my attention to certain posts, I ask you to either send me an ask with a link to the post or tag me. You can also send me a PM if you want. I will say that there are a multitude of reasons I might not end up doing any given post, requested or not.

As for asks, feel free to send me them. I probably won't post a reply or anything (depending on the content obviously), but I appreciate them.

I do check blog descriptions, pinned posts, and the post itself for pronouns. If someone's pronouns aren't in any of those three spots, then I use they/them.

Also I'm adding this to my pinned post because people have sent me asks about it: feel free to do whatever you want with my additions. I don't really care, unless you're using them to be mean. Make answering sideblogs. Reblog months-old posts. I don't mind.

Now for tags:

#reading comprehension questions — posts or reblogs that contain reading comprehension questions written by me.

#not reading comprehension questions — posts or reblogs that do not contain reading comprehension questions. I can't imagine using this in a reblog but it's a possibility.

#request — someone somehow alerted me to the post I reblogged.

#self post — any posts that are about myself and/or the blog.

#ask — any posts responding to asks sent to me.

#extra post — any post or reblog not posted as part of the queue

-

Check for understanding:

  1. How many posts leave the queue per day?
  2. What are the three ways that you can send a request for a post I should cover?
  3. How likely am I to answer any asks you send?
  4. Without looking at the tags on this post, what tags do you think I put on it? What led you to that answer?

(times i've seen myself on my own dash: 16)

i genuinely think this blog helped me a bit on the AP English test

I'm currently on a hopefully small hiatus for a bit due to a multitude of reasons (most of which are not mental health related this time at least) but I figured I could post this ask.

This strange yet heartening theme of people actually benefiting from my silly little gimmick blog continue, it seems

OH MY GOD APPARENTLY TAKING AN ARROW TO THE KNEE WAS AN OLD NORDIC SLANG FOR GETTING MARRIED

I THOUGHT THAT ALL THOSE GUYS IN SKYRIM HAD LITERALLY BEEN SHOT IN THEIR KNEES WITH ARROWS BUT I GUESS NOT

And at that moment, the foundation of that entire meme became something like this:

THAT EXPLAINS WHY MEN GO DOWN ON ONE KNEE WHEN THEY PROPOSE

OH MY GOD

I will never not laugh at this.

I had this friend who used to brag to us all the time that he could catch his cum in his mouth without fail every time he masturbated.  He actually wrote down how many times he successfully did it.  327.  I’ll never forget that number.  And every day at school, he would talk about this.  It was always during lunch my sophomore year of high school, too..so it was extremely unnecessary.  He used to always try to demonstrate his techniques with packets of mayonnaise but we’d always threaten to move tables so he’d stop.  He was really one of those people who needed attention constantly.  Aside from those times at lunch, he was a completely normal dude.  Like…even after class we’d ask him about that stuff and be like “dude, what was with that cum stuff at lunch,” and he’d always look at us like we were crazy and say “what the hell are you talking about?”  I’ll never forget that classmate.  His great personality will always be remember but his perplexing obsession with catching his own ejaculate in his mouth will live on forever at my previous high school.  He was a one of a kind guy.  His name was Norman Reedus.

[ID: A photo of Norman Reedus.]

Check for understanding:

  1. What claim does OP make about the origin of the phrase "taking an arrow to the knee?" How is Bethesda's video game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim relevant to this post?
  2. What is "the foundation of that entire meme" doing? Why might the original post cause this?
  3. How might this supposed origin of the phrase "taking an arrow to the knee" relate to men getting on one knee to propose?
  4. Is commanderchrist's addition related to the previous post at all? Why or why not?
  5. How likely do you think it is that commanderchrist was actually friends with Norman Reedus in high school and that he acted that way? What makes you think this?

Additional questions:

  1. Is "taking an arrow to the knee" actually Nordic slang for getting married?
  2. Where does the cultural norm of men getting on one knee to propose come from?

I was going to make a post today from the perspective of my mother, telling everyone that I died in prison after being arrested for meth use. But the issue is that said post started to become a bit genuinely heartbreaking so I ultimately decided against it

To clarify: it was supposed to be a humorous callback to that one dream but it was getting too serious with it so into the void it went

We'll return to your regularly-scheduled reading-comp-posting tomorrow

If it gives you any idea of what the original version was like, it involved me being magicked back into a baby through a series of unlikely coincidences

just got kicked out of Starbucks for - you guessed it - inventing a special kind of glue that lets me climb up anything.

Check for understanding:

  1. What did OP presumably do immediately before making this post?
  2. Does OP truly expect the reader to guess why they got kicked out of Starbucks? What is the purpose of this interjection?
  3. Is it reasonable to be kicked out of Starbucks for merely inventing a special type of glue that allows someone to climb up anything?
  4. How would OP know that the glue they just invented allows them to climb up anything? How might this relate to the fact that they were kicked out of Starbucks?
  5. How likely is it that OP was actually kicked out of Starbucks for inventing a special glue? Why might have they made this post?

  2. Is this reasoning sound? Why or why not?
  3. What is the purpose of the post? What is OP hoping to achieve?

anyways now that I finally put some stuff in the queue again I feel emboldened to share that I had a dream where this blog gained internet-wide fame because a random sixteen-year-old from Alabama (???) got sentenced to life in jail for meth use (???) and tried to convince everyone that he ran this blog so they'd let him go (???). Everyone believed him because why would you lie about running a gimmick blog on Tumblr. There was all sorts of weird discourse about the whole thing

I hadn't posted here for a while and almost forgotten that this blog existed until a post recapping the situation crossed my dash. Then I wrote and posted questions for it, didn't explain anything, then vanished forever
