mari stripping herself down to the iconic pitgirl dress was a smart idea, actually! while her jacket, pants, and shoes provided her with warmth and protection, they were highly visible and familiar to the other girls. neon pink and blue are not going to camouflage well against anything, but especially not against a snowy forest. changing out of those colors for the pale grey of her dress let her blend in with her surroundings. not only that, but it's unexpected and quieter, too. the others track by noise first and sight second. by removing the loudest article of clothing (her jacket), mari made herself significantly harder to track, especially now that her appearance has changed so radically from a distance. she was dealt a shit hand but she thought on her feet and used what little she could to her advantage! and she was making a pretty good go of it, too, until she fell into a pit she didn't even know existed!!
