The Unisphere is a spherical stainless steel representation of the Earth, located in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in the New York City borough of Queens. Commissioned as part of the 1964 New York World’s Fair, the sculpture was dedicated to “man’s achievements on a shrinking globe in an expanding universe.” It is 140 feet (43 m) high and 120 feet (37 m) in diameter.

This isn't a very happy birthday for Rex Banner

This particular post is going to be a bit more stream-of-consciousness than usual.

Today is my birthday. I can’t believe I am 27 years old. I barely touched my banana kaboom.

On a recent episode of Game Grumps (NSFW language, obviously), there was a thought-provoking discussion about varying perspectives on aging at different milestones in your life.

Roughly paraphrased, Dan Avidan stated:

You basically think you’re old from 18 onwards, and then every time you get five years down the line, you look back, and you’re like “I was a young little spring chicken.”

Since I’ve hit my late 20s, I’ve become more anxious about not reaching goals I thought I’d achieve by now when I was much younger. Even though I didn’t accomplish everything that I thought I would by the time I reached this point in my life, I am still hopeful for the future.
