Sorry it’s early but you really can’t use fanfiction terms in a non fanfiction context like if someone is trying to sell me a book to read and they tell me there’s an enemy to lovers I would be annoyed because why are you spoiling the story lol

sorry op this is kind of a tangent but this is why i hate how booktok has not only affected how ppl talk about their fave stories, but how it's basically gnawed its way into how publishing companies promote books. it basically encourages authors to build their entire story entirely around marketable tropes so that they turn more of a profit

"it has enemies to lovers!" "it has friends to lovers!" "this is a slow burn!" WHAT IS THE PLOT??? what makes your story unique?? why should i read it??? describing your story entirely in tropes and fanfiction terms makes your story sound extremely uninteresting lmfao.

Fanfiction is for when you want to read familiar characters in a setting where you already know what's going to happen. I care about this coffee shop au because I already love these characters and just want to see them in fun familiar situations

I think it's a common misconception that domesticating animals is somewhat like enslaving them. It really is more of a symbiotic relationship. No wild animal would have willingly put up with early humans if they didn't get something out of it. Wolves wouldn't have stayed with us and become dogs if they weren't getting food and safety out of it. Many large herbivores that are now domesticated could and would have easily trampled their early human captors or broken their enclosures open if they didn't have a reason to stay. Sometimes individual animals still do if we don't give them what they need.

The animals that have stayed with us for thousands of years have evolved to cooperate with us better. Dogs have additional facial muscles around their eyes that wolves lack in order to mimic human facial expressions. Sheep grow their wool perpetually while their wild counterparts don't because a bigger fleece means they're more likely to be allowed to breed and be kept around. Domestic dairy cows produce much more milk than wild bovine species and domestic hens lay more eggs. Do you know how energy costly producing eggs or milk is for an animal? It's pretty intense! They wouldn't be able to do that if we hadn't given them the food and safety from predators and the elements to.

And we really need to show these animals respect and gratitude for what they give us by taking excellent care of them. They gave up a lot to be with us, often including the means to take care of themselves in the wild. That's a huge reason why I'm not against using animal products, but I hate factory farming. They are still living, breathing creatures with needs and feelings. They deserve a comfortable life and, when the time comes, a humane death.

Controversial opinion but people on Twitter/TikTok wouldn’t be capable of surviving true toxic yaoi/yuri. What they really want is a tsundere character being mean once and then immediately apologizing for it…try giving them something truly toxic like manipulation, controlling behavior, passive aggressiveness and such and they will complain about how the writer is homophobic or is portraying the relationship wrong and is ruining the gays

I first met her last year when i was fresh out of rehab and i was trying to get some meth in a sketchy dealer traphouse. The house's floors were covered in shattered pipe glasses and you couldn't see your front due to the so much smoke in the bathroom sized apartment. I felt deeply sorry for the cat, she was constantly meowing like screaming and tried to learn some background on her. Dealer said that he took her from its mother because he loved it so much said it was cute. I explained she needs her mother more and she shouldn't drink cow's milk and eat tuna fish at this age. She was also sick she had diarrhea (i guess from the foods) and her eyes had some kind of infection (i guess from the smoke?) I tried to tell the dealer it's not good for her but he didn't really listen. So i did what i gotta do… put the cat in my handbag (she was so small she fitted in it) and said i gotta go and blocked him. Meet Tina she's around 1 years old now. We got clean together. I quit meth because i didn't want to give the same bad environment for her /end ID]
