I have a theory that the scene of aemond all curled up happens after Luke's death. Maybe it's before he is confronted by Otto and his mommy about it.
Because at the end of the last ep of season 1, he looks remorseful and has the "wtf did I just do" face. And I also desperately hope it's Halaena comforting him since it does look to be one of her dresses she is wearing (particularly the dress she wears in aegon's coronation), so I think this is the vulnerable side we see of him before he fully accepts his fate and becomes hard headed to just confront the war he ended up causing more or less. Could be that that scene is him pondering and showing the little kid he still is who lost an eye and is scared before he decides to "man" up which would lead to the other shots we see of him being a mini hater when talking about his family irregardless of sides.
That's my theory, mainly on the fact if they don't start off the first ep with B&C right away and instead show us first aemond returning to KL right after killing Luke or around that time period before B&C happens in general.
(I just so badly don't want it to be a scene of self-deprecation and more of a scene about reflection and comfort)

oooooh this is definitely an interesting take nonnie! I do hope also that it shows how tormented Luke’s death was for him. I know everyone expects Aemond to be cold and what not but it just adds so much more depth to his character, like him having nightmares of it… 
he always wanted a dragon because he thought it was the end all be all, but there’s sooo much more to just claiming a dragon. they are their own minds…
if it is Helaena, I remember a while back the show runners saying that they would tease the idea of Helaemond ages ago so this could be it (unless my memory serves me wrong) but tbh I doubt it… not saying it isn’t a possibility!
personally, I think it’s either a) that older woman from the brothel in s1 or b) that mysterious blonde girl who is apparently a dancer/lady of the night distracting Aemond whilst B&C happens, but also she does strike a resemblance to Helaena (maybe intentional) but also plays on the idea of Helaemond. I’ve even heard a theory so far as to say that it’s Alys but I think if this scene was to play out in the first ep, it would be too soon for Alys to be there unless they reveal it much later that it was her somehow…

I have a theory that shot of Aemond laying on that woman (?) is the old brothel lady from s1 and I have a feeling it’s around the time when B&C will strike.
Either Aegon takes him there to “celebrate” Luke’s death [since we’re apparently getting Aegon at the whore house scene so this would make sense] or he goes himself [I doubt]… but either way. just my theory, so don’t attack me.

I debated posting this because it may sound sappy, but I do occasionally step back and post my thoughts about how we interact with each other. This can certainly apply to any fandom. However, it is specifically about the past 24 hours in the HotD fandom.
Yesterday's trailer was amazing. Whether you love/hate any characters specifically, whether you were disappointed by possible omissions, or you love all of the characters and just have fun with this dragon soap opera, they gave us so many hours of discussion and theories. That was surely their intention. What struck me the most (what I am too much of a realist to believe will continue to happen as the season air) was the community and excitement.
I'm not naïve - I know that there were some people who inevitably posted hurtful or hateful words yesterday. But for the most part, there was a general feeling of "this is why we are here." I try to bring that to my blog with every single post. Not because it's manufactured behavior or because I want to present a certain image, but because this is what fandom needs to be. We all love this series even when we hate it. Hate is the opposite side of the same coin: one cannot feel hate/frustration unless they are passionate about the object, the exact same passion that is required to love something.
What I have seen in the last 24 hours has been encouraging. When the negativity inevitably comes with the second season (in 32 days!!), remember to treat others how you want to be treated. And don't add the exception "unless they are hurtful first and then it's fine to return the unkindness." Just treat them how you want to be treated. This includes unfollowing, blocking, blocking tags, but it also means connecting with new blogs who are also kind, respectful, and fun. Expand your circle - there are so many of us!
That went a little longer than I expected but I wanted to say it because you all moved me. Don't forget (especially those in this fandom that feel strongly about one or the other "team") that the actors would want us to get joy from their work. If they can support and care about each other, so can we.
