Updated Leefish’s Magazine Rack to work properly in owned businesses (I also stole the preview, sorry about that)

I’ve had trouble finding custom racks that work properly when I built the magazine business, and I’m still trying out stuff left and right to see what works. Well, now this works!

You still need to download the recolors from the original post, and let my edit overwrite the old mesh. Additional credit goes to Midge, who answered a question about a similar topic, which made me realize that it actually wouldn’t be hard to update this.

Reblogging to also steal this preview, as I added an edit to Deedee’s edit of this magazine rack! (so my edit will include her updates for owned businesses)

You may not have noticed that this magazine rack emits light if you just used one of them. But if you grouped six together in the checkout area of a grocery store and noticed that all your Sims were bathed in an unbelievably bright and overblown light…. well then you might have noticed!

I’ve removed the light from this object to solve that issue. :) Remove any prior versions of the mesh from your game, and just like hers if you don’t have the recolours get Lee’s originals here!

Download (SFS) | Download (MF)

Awesome! I’m grabbing this edit ❤

finally for today we have some nails for smooth hands. these were originally made by digi and they are wonderful. i took ava's nails and put the texture on these nails, recolored it in 12 of pooklet's colors, plus black, white, and a special nail art recolor.

these will clip with regular hands. all of the clothing i'm planning on releasing in the future will have a smooth hands option, so if you don't have a lot of smooth hands meshes i promise i'm working on it. XD

again, fia @mrs-mquve-cc helped me do these by adding cas thumbnails to the files. i could not have done that without her.

Cute Vamp Stuff

A little set of objects for your cute feminine vampires, which includes:

Vampire bed, coffin pet bed, witch end table, bat wings TV, bat wall light, bat chair, a couple rug recolors and a moon chandelier.

Credits, details and unedited swatches:

  • Vampire bed: 4t2 conversion of mundo sims' vampire bed, recolored to include a pink swatch. 2 swatches, poly count reduced to 2439 (low poly).
  • Coffin pet bed: 4t2 conversion of sims41life's cat coffin bed, with a black bedding recolor added and made bigger to accommodate dogs and cats alike. 3 swatches, custom dirty state, poly count reduced to 1525 (low poly)
  • Witch end table: 4t2 conversion of hydrangea's bubblegum witch table. It technically works as a dining table too, but I don't recommend putting a chair on both sides as it will clip on one side. 5 swatches, poly count reduced to 1066 (low poly).
  • Bat wings TV: a frankenmesh of Pixel Vibes' angel TV, converted to sims 2 by jacky93sims, and plumbobsimpants' accessory bat wings, converted to sims 2 by nonsensical-pixels. Recolored to add a pentagram to the back. 2 swatches, poly count reduced to 6372 (medium poly).
  • Bat wall light: 4t2 conversion of mundo sims' vampire wall light. 1 swatch, 593 poly (low poly).
  • Bat chair: 4t2 conversion of mundo sims' vampire activity table (but chair only) recolored by me. 4 swatches, poly count reduced to 664 (low poly).
  • Moon chandelier: 4t2 conversion of simbishy's moon chandelier, made smaller/shorter because I never make 2 story rooms. 1 swatch, 901 poly (low poly).
  • Satanic Rugs: recolors of maxis' royal first oval rug (the one with the rooster). Textures taken from acatalepsy's occult rug and N0X's mall goth rug.

Texture sizes reduced, files compressed, swatch included.

Custom food commitment is a thing of the past!

I want to highlight a creation by someone else today, because I think it's super cool and very useful to the community! Have you ever wanted to use custom food, but were put off by the fact that once in, you shouldn't technically remove it because it creates broken memories and tokens and whatnots? Do you have food in that you wish you could remove but don't want to because of those aspects?

Well fret no more, because jonasn has posted an updated version of his Memory Commander, that now has an invalid food removal option under Mass Deletion.../Remove EVERYONE'S Invalid Food. It cycles through the entire hood, removing memories where the food subject no longer exists, leftover plates that are empty (does not include apartment lots, or secret society lot) and fave foods referring to non-existing dishes. It could already sort of do it for one Sim at a time, but now it can do the entire hood all at once! How amazing is that?!

I was a tester for this function and it's been working perfectly in my testing. That said, please know that I am in no means an expert on corruption or anything such. To me this seems like a great tool that is super useful, but use is at your own risk. I've run a number of tests for jonasn on the functionality, and he's done what he could to verify the outcomes to see it's all good, but as with anything complicated there's always a slight possibility that there is something you overlooked. The object pops up a dialog that informs you how many things were removed, and if you exit lot without saving then the actions aren't saved, so I recommend just testing it if you are interested :)

Aside from this one function, the Memory Commander is also basically a one stop shop for anything memory-related you could possibly want. It can assign any game memory, it can modify existing memories to change subject etc. You can even assign other custom memories with it, as long as at least one Sim has gotten it in the hood. It's such a handy tool for anyone that likes memories, and as you know, I am memory obsessed so I am a big fan!

Wow! This is such a great feature!

I admit that I have been pretty hesitant about what foods to add simply because of the issue with the memories. This opens a lot more options up for me

Door Adjusters

When placed next to a door, these adjusters change the logic the door is opened/closed with, or if it can be used at all. The adjusters turn invisible in live mode. There are 4 of them:

  • Stay open: the door will stay open after a sim walks through it, and continue doing so until the adjuster is removed.
  • Close behind: the door will close after a sim walks through it, even if there's a sim blocking it.
  • Weather based: the door will stay open after a sim walks through it if the outdoor temperature is above 0 and it's not raining. The door will close on its own if the outdoor temperature drops to 0 or below or it starts raining.
  • No in use: sims will not use the door. If the door is multi-tiled, sims will only not use the side that the adjuster is placed on.

They come with a mod that's required for the adjusters to work. The mod includes a global fix for doors getting jammed by objects, so that can't happen anymore. Sims standing in the way will still prevent doors from closing, unless you use the close behind adjuster.

The adjusters should work with all kinds of doors. Here are examples of the placement with different door types:

A note about sliding doors: their animation makes it impossible for both sides to be open at the same time. If you want to make them stay open (either permanently or based on weather), use the not in use adjuster for the other side of the door. Sims will then obviously only use the side of the door that's open.

The adjusters are intentionally not quarter-tile enabled to make them easier to place. There are two versions of them: others show up in the catalog under build/doors, while the others are only accessible through a collection. Only use one version at a time.

The files are compressed and a collection is included. The adjuster mesh is 2 polys and uses 128x128 texture.

🚨 The mod conflicts with the doorjamfix by Pescado and the blocked doors can close hack by @julsfels. The mod fixes the same issues so they won't be needed with it.

The weather based adjuster only does anything if you have Seasons.

A bunch of add-ons and recolors for Pipeline Decoratives from Apartment Life EP, plus one standalone mesh.

Drain Pipe Set

Polycounts: 250 - 480. Grungy Old Drain Pipe is 866 poly. Located in Buildmode/Architecture. Merged recolors for 'Pipeline Decoratives' are done with TXMT settings, use original white texture and contain only a single specular map.

Enjoy!

AAS Victorian archive pfm-efm

So here is a folder including all of the clothes from all ages in the Victorian era section. They are organised by age group and gender except for children and toddlers who are merged by gender. Each outfit is in it’s original zip file. I will later update and add photos to match the folder names.  https://1drv.ms/u/s!AhytYpxhdLXdfuPkbyc1yvuuwX4?e=T6gue8

No Fires From Fireplaces

With this mod, fireplaces no longer start fires. Doesn't stop any other means from starting fires.

Works with custom fireplaces too (both with and without a chimney) at least if they're based on Numenor's templates or the updated ones by @platinumaspiration. That means most (if not all) custom fireplaces.

I don't think there's anything this conflicts with but as always, run HCDU+ to be sure.
