[ nothing at my back but that horrible stunted tree - a. rimbaud ] i hopeful e eyebrow rise ye, wordwise. [ cruxymox.wordpress.com ] age: midcentury modern

very randomly--

( ok, not that randomly, as i was just at a vinyl / cd shop )

kate bush is definitely in my top 5 favorite artists / bands of all time. ( i don't think i'll ever be able to definitively pick a #1 )

it is sort of weird to me, as her first album came out when i was only almost 7 years old. ( i guess all that means is that i am old. )

just out of curiosity - what is the oldest music that came out during your lifetime that is in your favorites?

some blanket of thunder

so i am prone to wander

a glutton for punishment

the sharp of sunlit garnet

a middlemist's red dying

more than one new horror arising

would i but hide in this storm

& i am prone to wander

& i am prone to wonder

& i am only going to ever fall

over

obfuscate the angelcode in this [        ]

replace our organs with the mad synth

glassy lens, drumhead, [      ] madness

send us to oblivion in dark/wild music

the [             ] oubliette of your silence

the girl with the stars in her head

she shakes a dance that we never see

wanna swim with the heavy jacket on

wanna swim in a far away night

wanna swim for a new shoreline

gonna drown in this lake

( right down its middle )

a star spills out of her mouth & tumbles down the highway

she gets so dizzy

the star tells her its name is Chaubunagungamaug

but that's a demon name

or a dragon name

or a goblin name

she complains on the ground, her fingers touching the edge of the melting asphalt

fish kiss her shining eyes

& swim right down her middle

( would that they wanna )

so dizzy, drowning & floating, dancing on a midnight-hot street

the stars with the girl in their head

look! they're see-saw singing there

on the wrong side of the lake

🌟 Top 100 Favorite Songs of All Time Challenge 🌟

Day 53 (February 22, 2025)

I've been a fan of the Phantom of the Opera since I first heard the Original London Cast production of it. Would love to have seen it when it was on the stage. But since I didn't live in England at the time nor anywhere near Broadway, it was not to be. But I'm thankful for the soundtrack. The Phantom soundtrack has a couple of appearances in my Top 100 Favorite Songs of All Time countdown.

Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again - Andrew Lloyd Webber (performed by Sarah Brightman)

If I haven't tagged you, you are still welcome to join along in this fun challenge.

Now for something a little different. Glen Campbell-Classical Gas.

And something a bit sadder. His last recording as he was losing his ability to make music and remember his loved ones

@oshea52 thank you for the tag!!

//this song is like a memento of sorts from my childhood, my dad playing it on the radio while soldering microchips or working on something. And, I love to sing along to it in the car now, it's fun!//

//no pressure, just a fun music tag game//

i've been trying to think of a song that'd qualify that i haven't previously shared ... i may have posted this one before? ages ago? i haven't a clue.

if you like it, consider yourself tagged.

she's a sapphire june

blue swirling about

like an animal

a monster

she's a sad balrog

biting at fire & brimstone

teeth still shiny

& white

teeth still shiny & white

a storm comes, she dances in

raining & loud

she'd be yelling at ice

a snow shout, a sort-of fire

but no

though still raining & loud

raining & loud

she comes with the breaking sun

she comes with a crashing song

there'll be flowers in your driveway

there'll flowers in my hair

i'll be flailing wildly

in the flowers everywhere

dandelions for the highways

mums for this mud

lilies for my graveyard

& roses for my blood

i should have been trying

to write a poem

instead, i made a word search

( akin to squaredle )

using the words

'poem', 'poetry', 'reminder' & 'write'

& it just

inspired

this.
