It’s a minor thing that annoys me so bad. Allan, not Allen. Poe hated the Allan’s anyway and rarely used that name in his personal correspondence unless the association benefited him. He mostly signed Edgar A. Poe, EAP, or just Edgar Poe.
Aaaand that’s enough Polin fandom for me. Y’all are just sucking the joy out of something I do solely for enjoyment.
The sheer hypocrisy of everyone on each side of the argument is wild.
I love Polin, both Colin and Penelope. But I hate this fandom. For such a sweet wholesome couple this place is toxic as fuck. I’ll be watching Season 3 with excitement and maybe even write some fanfic still but I’m not staying in this community. ✌🏻

Penelope finds out Colin has been to brothels, but he's only ever watched. She wants to watch too and convinces him to take her. It’s supposed to be sexy and informative, but it ends up bringing old insecurities to the surface because the woman they are watching is beautiful...and looks nothing like Penelope.
Colin decides to show Penelope what beauty really is.
“I need you.” He heard himself saying, vaguely surprised at the utter rawness to his voice. Penelope froze for a moment, then her eyes flicked over to his, wide with confusion.
“What is it you need?” she asked, setting her needlework to the side and shifting to the edge of the sofa, ready to assist him with whatever he might need.
“You.” He simply said.
THIS is exactly what I want. They are friends! They love each other’s company! They can giggle like little kids together! BECAUSE THEY ARE FRIENDS THAT LOVE EACH OTHER! God I hope there’s more of this in season 3!

Like most everyone I’m pretty disappointed in what we got today. It’s just another point in a long line of excluding Colin. But the one thing that I am happy about is that it seems like this fandom is actually coming around and realizing the Colin disrespect and erasure. I’ve seen so many posts about the anger at his exclusion and that at least makes me happy.
