J.K. Rowling, once-beloved children’s author turned incomprehensible embarrassment whose cruelty is so caricatured she sounds like Mean Girl #2 in a Disney Channel Original Movie, has decided she doesn’t like asexual people either.

As an out and proud demisexual, here are my thoughts on that:

[…] I guess I’ve always felt that my writing and my romances are intrinsically tied together. Because for whatever emotional stimuli I’m lacking in real life, I can write about it instead—take it apart and examine it, figure out what I want without risking anything real.

This is why “I’m sick of dating apps, I’m just gonna Pygmalion myself a boyfriend” is my most beloved coined phrase (and! Another playlist).

edit to add (bc amidst my stream-of-conscious babbling in the blog post, i forgot to include these things):

  • am i being unreasonable? recently dropped season 2 on hulu. i cannot recommend this show enough, particularly if you’re into dark comedy and the deconstruction of tropes (specifically, the as of late frenzy around domestic/psychological thrillers that do not actually deliver on their “…WITH A SHOCKING TWIST”—but the show itself nails it)
  • trying to ease off my screen time a little (doomscrolling, weather anxiety, various rabbit holes idek how i fell into), so i’ve started making word art of my favorite unhinged svu quotes. for instance—
  • ^ doing this while listening to podcasts, of which i recommend (with zero to minimal reservations—and also no links bc idk what apps everyone’s using, but you should be able to find these everywhere): how did this get made?; witch bitches review; radio rental; smosh reads reddit stories; and no more late fees
  • touched on this in the post, but i am Trying to write (including fanfic updates), but i’ve been struggling pretty majorly there for a whole host of reasons i’m sorting through, so, it’s happening but please be patient with me and keep the faith
  • i’m still always open for tarot readings if you’re into that (DM me for details, and we can talk pricing but i’m not gonna uphold my usual rates, so we’re running on the cheaper side rn)
