Summary: Y/n has called John for a small favor…the removal of a dead body from Alfie’s kitchen. Who was the dead man and why was he there in the first place? That might be the biggest surprise of all.

You sat watching steam rise from a piping hot cup of tea as John paced before you. “I don’t understand,” he said, twisting his cap in his hands.

“What?” you mumbled as you shoved a biscuit into your mouth.

“How did you manage it?” he asked with a note of genuine surprise, though he should have learned by now not to underestimate you. 

You only shrugged as he gestured toward the hulking man splayed out before him on Alfie’s kitchen floor.

I will be the last one here when they finally turn off the lights, because Tumblr is *only* fun for me, in no small part because the Industry Machine hasn't polluted Tumblr the way it has all the other social networks.

I think that's because the Venn Diagram of Weird Tumblr and Not Weird Tumblr is a perfect circle we call a hellsite, and the marketing dweebs are so confounded by what we do here, they focus on other, more predictable, social networks.

I've read about the demise of Weird Twitter around 2016 (gasp), how once Twitter stopped being a safe place to be weird, it rapidly became what it is, now. Interesting people tend to be weird. Creative people tend to be weird. We who love those people tend to be weird, and we like to be around people who reflect our vibe back to us. Why would any of us stick around in a Nazi club full of Incels when we can hang out here and remember the first time we saw Goncharov, or how the Feast of Neil Gaiman is celebrated in our homes.

Oh, and fuckin' WONDER WOMAN brings her loving, supportive, I am your mom and I love you unconditionally energy to every single post. She's the only Tumblr I follow with alerts turned on, because I always feel uplifted after I read something from her.

And Tumblr is maybe the only place on the entire Internet where I can be the best Becky I can be.

That doesn't even touch on all the art and fanfic and vintage photos and the endless stream of Debbie Harry that comes across my dash.

Deluge. Downpour. White blankets swathed the surroundings in every single direction as John carefully negotiated his Austin Twenty over the rapidly freezing roads, shuddering as he did. The temperature had dropped to a bitter minus five, but he wasn’t about to let a little thing like sub-zero temperatures and weather that bordered upon a blizzard stop him from reaching Little Aston. Besides, it had only taken such a severe turn once he was over halfway there.  

Important addition that this would only be for drugs developed with taxpayer money (which it looks like is pretty much anything since 2010 at least) - that’s why the government can do this. The American taxpayer paid for it so they should get what they paid for basically.

Any drug developed without taxpayer money (which is like 0 it turns out because the pharma companies are thieving bastards) would not be subject to this reg.

This is fixing the fact that at the moment the drug companies take less of the financial risk of drug development because the govt is footing a lot of the bill (and therefore taking on all that risk), but then the drug companies keep all the profit by setting absurd prices once the drug is on the market. That’s your money that funded that! You should get the benefits!

socialising the risks and privatising the profits just got a glorious fist straight up its arse
