Sins of the Past
Commander Walters just wants to keep the world safe. All because he couldn't keep one little girl safe, a long time ago.
Captain Walters watched as the stasis tube sank into the floor, filling with a special liquid, one that he had no idea the specifics of, or cared to. That wasn’t his end of things. He was merely there to keep tabs on the comings and goings of the soldiers, and provide the professor anything he needed. He and the other soldiers were there to make sure Uncle Sam was getting his money’s worth out of this whole classified fiasco.
The subject of which was a little space . . . something. No one was quite sure what it . . . he was, or where he came from. All they knew—and truthfully, all they really cared about—was the power the little guy emitted. An incredible power, with the potential to solve the energy crisis.
Or obliterate an entire nation.
Walters could guess which one the government really wanted to study.
It had all fallen to Professor Gerald Robotnik, the leading genius scientist enlisted by President Nixon himself. The professor was under strict orders to learn everything he could about this little alien, which was fine, for God and Country and all that, but he’d been given clearance to bring his granddaughter along. Walters wasn’t quite sure why, but she seemed harmless enough. A little mischievous, but nothing too terrible.
Until she befriended the alien.
