I've had a conversation with an old college friend a couple months ago and she told me where she lives now, it's not permitted to have your children share a bedroom, which surprised me. And she also thought it was abusive to do so. So, yeah, poll time.

You know, it dawns on me that I never fact checked her claim that it was illegal in her state (Georgia, USA). So I just did. Not only was she wrong about this, but I even found a website stating that this was a "common misconception in Georgia."

Should have checked for an update before writing that paragraph. I kind of wonder if she is mistaking policy surrounding foster care in some areas with the law in general -- I know there are some areas where foster kids are not permitted to share rooms, which I'm sure is a response to situations where there were too many kids in one house, but it also can lead, as I mentioned previously, to sibling sets being split up unnecessarily.
