Wanted to repost this! This is my MarTen long fic, Surpassing the Strongest! It’s an End of Z canon divergent story featuring #Goten as the main character, finally giving him the spotlight and big plot line he deserves!

This fic is very near and dear to me, it’s only four chapters (so far) but it’s only just beginning! I sincerely hope you enjoy it, and as always if you do read I would love to hear what you thought!

This fic was finished in 2015 and the author hadn't had a comment since 2016. They appreciated the comment even though it was just emoji hearts, they were happy and surprised to receive love on their older fic.

Don't stop commenting just because it's an old piece or because you think you can't come up with something smart, witty or thoughtful to say.

Just say anything. Just put an emoji. Just let them know you appreciate their work.

  • thank hell for all the authors who write angst, whump, and hurt no comfort, for us to luxuriate in blorbo's hurt and pain and cry or cackle.
  • thank hell for all the authors who write cheating, love triangles and affairs for us to consume large quantities of popcorn to and yell 'oh no, they didn't'.
  • thank hell for all the authors who write case fic, mission fic, and intricate, plot-driven stories to replicate the feel of canon, when canon has stopped or gone wrong.
  • thank hell for all the authors who write 'fix it' fics when canon has betrayed us with bad vibes, plot holes and deaths.
  • thank hell for all the authors who write poly ships when what we need is just for everyone to get along and screw instead of screw up.
  • thank hell for all the authors who write gen fic when we're not interested in romance.
  • thank hell for all the authors in fandom, and all the wonderful, different kinds of fanfiction they write for us.

thinking about that post of people assuming ao3 has an algorithm and also about how bonkers persistent the view is that ao3 is social media lite. like with startling regularity I get comments saying something along the lines of "it's probably weird to comment on a fic this old--" no it isn't!!!! this is an archive I am literally just assuming you searched for a selection of specific tags or sorted by kudos or looked back on my pseud or any other number of completely normal ways to use an archive site ?? kill the tiktok ghost in your brain and comment on old stuff it's NOT weird

Chapter two of the MarTen-centric fic is up! (Please note, tags have been updated)

Marron has second thoughts about a second date with Onri and considers a second option. Goten and Trunks explore why Goten is experiencing potentially romantic feelings for the first time.

Snippet:

As predicted a Shadow landed softly, the silhouette of a man braking with such skill the herbs in the atrium only swayed once in the displacement of air. Even in the gloom the eerie sight caused by the Allblack suit was impressive. Face on, no facial features stood in relief. The light from the hob hood lazily pooled into the workout area beyond the atrium, but remained unreflected from the suit. For all eyes, the Shadow was a hole in the world.
