Important Update

Hi friends. The team has given this a lot of thought and we are going to cut back on our regularly scheduled bear posting for the time being. To us, it feels so frivolous, pointless, meaningless, and even disrespectful to be posting about bears when a genocide is going on right now. Posting bears is not making life more bearable, it feels like it's disrespectful and willfully ignorant.

However, we know that people still need bears and still need a little refuge from the world now more than ever. So going forwards for the foreseeable future, we will be scaling back our thrice daily bear posts to one scheduled post per day. We're not sure to what extent, but answered asks may be scaled back as well.

We would also like to take this time to beg everyone to please please please not be silent or complicit in the genocide of the Palestinian people going on right now. Here is a US-based action toolkit and here is an action toolkit for Canada with action tools, resources, donation links, information, and resources. We are begging you to use it, and to use your voices for good. Please.

If anyone has toolkits or links for people in other countries, please share and use them.

Hi friends. I wanted to share one of my friend's fundraisers and ask people to please please please consider donating -- any amount, no matter how small, helps.

I met Mahmoud over instagram (@ mahmoudabed_sm) and we've been talking every day for the past few months. He and his family are trapped in Gaza and trying to survive this genocide. The cost of food and supplies is exorbitant and every day Mahmoud is fighting to keep himself and his family alive. They have been displaced multiple times and, like everyone else in Gaza, have nowhere else to go. IOF murdered Mahmoud's uncle and wounded several of his nephews, and every day there are more horrors. Every day there are new horrors and atrocities and every day I worry about him so much, and every day I center myself and keep fighting to end this genocide because Mahmoud must survive.

Mahmoud is 24 years old and is such a lovely and kind person and every single day I worry about him so so so much.

I know there are so many fundraisers and so many people in need, and most of us are struggling to get by ourselves, but please, if you have a few dollars (or whatever currency you use) to spare, please consider donating to Mahmoud and his family.
