Did a mini ref for one of my characters because. i wanted to post him on artfight and i dont have enough refs more my characters.

making this gave me the horrifying realization that i have so many characters who are prissy blondes with beauty marks or freckles 🙄 im so fucking predictable

i also like blondes with dark(er) eyebrows, fight me (i once got hatemail for having blond characters with dark eyebrows)

he's not considered particularly "agile" otherwise, but he scales cliffs like no one's business. in this situation, he would just throw her over his shoulder

Beriith's tail is actually mainly for balance. It has social functions (emoting with tail movements) and he can hit people with it and loosely wrap it around things, but it isn't prehensile and can't be used like. a third arm or anything.

I don't know when I'm going to draw scenes featuring Val's parents, but I wanted to get down a quick design for them. This design will probably end up getting polished more once I actually sit down and write scenarios featuring them, but, you know, I needed something to start with. I was tempted to give Val's father facial hair but that might've made him too good-looking to me, so I didn't... (this is NOT "elves can't grow facial hair" type setting.)

Their names are Vanessa and Tonio.

Yeah. Well. Val knows Beriith is tall compared to her, but she lacked context as to how tall Beriith is compared other members of his race. And. Hm. Yeah. Beriith is tall, even compared to his own kind. Not, like, unnaturally so? but tall enough for other goets to note it as a significant feature of his.

I also never draw Val's and Beriith's actual height difference unless it's a full body picture :') she's just lunking around several Scully boxes so she can fit in the frame better.

(the map also isn't a representation of any region in the story/world, i haven't made any maps for the world so i had to whip up something map-like for this piece.)

(also Goet language isnt like. a real conlang and not even a real cipher, its just nonsense, i should redo the font too.)

BONUS!

One significant Beriith feature that I can't really convey well is that he speaks with a noticeable accent. I've thought about phonetic accents a lot (thanks to another of my projects which has a character with severe speech impediment of not having lips) and since the balance of fun and annoying is quite delicate, I don't really write them out unless I really have to, and even then I'd downplay it. Beriith's accent isn't meant to be to thick anyway.
