Whenever I see h/c scenarios there’s usually one that’s basically the sick/injured person is clingy and perhaps emotional/scared and the caretaker tries to comfort and calm them down. Now I love this, it’s one of my favourite things to write. But you know what I like just as much that doesn’t often get talked about? When it’s the caretaker who’s clinging to the patient and freaking out and the patient is the one who has to calm them down and be like “Hey, it’s okay. I’m not dying or anything.” “Are you ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE?” “*sigh* Yes.”

When the quiet, gentle character wakes up feeling absolutely miserable but no one notices when they’re quiet and withdrawn because that’s how they always are, and it’s with a great sense of defeat that they finally come crawling for help to one of their friends, who feels so guilty for not noticing sooner.

More worst case scenarios because I am wEaK for that moment when character has to keep powering on even as their body is begging to just D R O P 1. Singer who is just beginning their much anticipated tour and finds themselves feeling like shit but NO they can absolutely NOT be getting sick no no no no no no no. 2. Character in a leadership position (captain, commander, dictator idk) is leading their forces into battle and it’s only the third or so day of long tedious fighting and they need to be in top shape but uh oh their enemies are in the midst of cold/flu season and that’s not working out too well for them. 3. For some reason a character is a fugitive (whether or not they are actually guilty of something who knows) and they have to constantly be on the move but what’s this? A fever? 4. Shit shit shit the character procrastinated way too much and suddenly it’s 10 pm the night before an important essay is due and they have a HORRIBLE cough and fever and their nose won’t stop itching and their throat hurts like all hell and how they wish they’d done this sooner but nope now they have no choice but to work until it’s finished, despite all misery.

Road Trip Prompts:

So, since my life is apparently a fic right now I figured I would make a prompt list because I’ve been meaning to for a while and I’m in the car for another few hours and low key crave death lmao. Feel free to add onto these!

- A has been feeling kind of run down all week but it hasn’t turned into anything, so they assume they’ll be fine for the road trip they’ve been planning for months with B, but the day they’re supposed to leave, it finally hits

- A and B are on a road trip with their friends. A is in the back because even though they’re tall, they’re not as tall as one of the other characters so they’re just suffering through it, except they feel low key miserable and they’re trying to sleep but they’re too tall to be able to find a comfortable position

- A spikes a fever halfway through and they have to stop at a store for supplies because they didn’t pack anything

- The air is on because it’s boiling out, but A is shivering in their seat, prompting B to ask what the hell is wrong with them

- A is supposed to stay awake to keep B company, but they fall asleep partway through, and then they don’t wake up when B tries, prompting B to be PISSED when A DOES wake up, but whoops, they have the flu from hell and B’s anger morphs into concern

Fall Sickfic Prompts

1.) Handing out Halloween candy, Character B has a fever and is miserable, but stuck outside handing out candy. Their partner, Character A, insists they go inside, and say that they’ll do it, that they don’t want B getting any worse. B, who stubbornly swears they’re fine even though they are shaking like a leaf and their nose is running, insists on doing it. Character A just shakes their head and walks back inside, seemingly leaving B to do it on their own. After a few minutes, A comes back with a thick fleece blanket, two mugs of hot chocolate, and a warm hat for B. Character A places both the mugs on the ground, lays the blanket over both of their shoulders, snuggles up against B, and says that if they won’t go inside, then they’re going to have to take care of them out here.

2.) Character B is a photographer and goes out to take photos of the fall leaves with Character A, who isn’t a photographer but is there to spend time with B. B is either starting to get sick or is in the throws of a really bad cold, but is convinced that if they wait until they’re better to take pictures, all the leaves will already be dead and on the ground. Bonus points if they can’t get a good shot because they start coughing whenever they try to focus.

3.) Character B doesn’t want Character A to figure out they have a cold because they’re worried they’ll insist they stay home from the fall festival they’ve been planning on going to for months. In an effort to hide their illness and prevent spreading their germs to Character A and everyone else at the festival, they spend most of the festival buried under the hood of their sweater with their scarf wrapped snuggly around their face. At least until Character A figures out what’s really going on. How do they finally figure it out?

4.) Characters A and B are out apple picking. Character B has the beginnings of a cold, with a sore throat and runny nose. They think the fresh air will do them well, which it does, only after the hay, crisp air, and bright sun wreck them good. After completely unraveling in the middle of their apple picking session, Character A urges B to sit down in the shade under one of the trees while they go grab the rest of the apples. Character B is so tired from sneezing they almost fall asleep where they’re sitting. Right as they’re about to pass out, Character A gets their attention when they sit down next to them, handing them one of the apples they got.

guys i just had the best idea for a sickfic

so two characters go to a planetarium or something and a gets really bad motion sickness and vomits on the spot, leading b to carry them outside since they’re too dizzy to walk.

Sickfic prompt #1

Character A never misses a day of class, always gets their work in on time etc but everyone is worried when they don’t turn up for class. Character B and Character C decide to bunk class and go to Character A’s house; they find Character A passed out in their front garden, they were sick but were too stubborn and tried to force their way to class but their weak body couldn’t take it. Character B rushes to Character A and holds them while they slowly open their eyes and all that Chatacter A can say is “character B..?”

Characters becoming so dizzy it makes them queasy anyone?

Person A is at work, when they start getting really bad stomach pains along with a headache, they brush it off as nothing because they haven’t eaten anything all day. A goes into the bathroom; they’re sweaty and shaky, so they wash their face with water, but they still feel sick. Suddenly, A violently throws up in the sink and passes out. Person B comes in to use the bathroom, and they see A knocked out and call an ambulance.

Character A has terrible period pains, they are so bad that they are making A feel awfully sick, Character B doesn’t get periods/doesn’t get bad periods so they are a little bit insensitive and constantly tells A to stop being dramatic.

It’s not until A vomits all over the bed and is practically screaming in pain that B realises that A really wasn’t being dramatic and that A is really in serious pain.

Character B apologises to A, cleans them up and gets a hot water bottle for them and pain killers, they put a bucket under A’s chin and snuggle them explaining they should probably go to a doctor.

A sick character who is very vulnerable, crying softly and whimpering while laying in their s/o’s arms, they’ve been unable to keep anything down including water all day, prompting their s/o to say

“Baby this might be worse than we thought.. I’m gonna take you to the hospital..”
