Intro Post 2024 Edition

Heya, I’m Kem! (he/they) This is where I share my gaming shenanigans. I like RPGs, angst, and making my OCs suffer.

Current focus is generally Star Wars: The Old Republic, with a new hyperfixation of Baldur's Gate 3. You can also expect to see content from Lord of the Rings Online, Fallout 4, and Secret World Legends.

I’m an avid screenshotter/virtual photographer, so expect many screenshots as well as the occasional gifset. I also spend far too much time, effort, and money playing pixel dress-up with my characters. With SWTOR at 32 possible outfits, I might just be able to sate my outfit needs there (other games still need to get with it).

More notably in my opinion, I'm a passionate writer with more fanfic ideas than I think I'll ever actually be able to write. Again, most of my fics have been SWTOR in nature, but I'm dipping my metaphorical toes into some BG3 writing as well. I have a handy page for my published fics here.

touch-starvation needs to be written with emphasis on the starving part. you are hungry to be touched. so hungry that even the very taste of it makes you nauseous. it has been long since anything has ever touched you, ever fed you - that your body has grown more used to that gnawing emptiness more than anything else. it's better for you to be held, to eat but it makes you sick to try. you know

“There’s an entire sky of stars up there to map out,” Gale reminds him drily. “We may very well be here all night.” Dhamari squints a little at the other man. “Was there someplace else you were planning to be?” he returns. “Not so long as you’re here,” replies Gale softly. He gives the drow’s hand another light squeeze upon his chest before disentangling his fingers, and Dhamari thinks he understands the voiceless request: Keep this here. Your touch. Your presence. So Dhamari does. Gradually spreads his hand out, his fingers splayed yet relaxed upon the amethyst field of Gale’s shirt, now turned to midnight in the semi-darkness. He feels the pull of the fabric beneath his hand as Gale reaches to indicate the next constellation, feels each rise and fall of the man’s chest as Gale begins to speak again. “Continuing on, then - if we follow this line along the highest angle of Auroth, we arrive at this cluster of stars here….” Before long, the wizard’s voice seems to meld with the starscape itself, pulsing through the points of light as Gale brings definition and meaning to the otherwise nonsensical scatterings of magic. Despite his fascination, Dhamari finds his gaze growing heavy. Lulled by the familiar brightness of the night sky, and even moreso by the strange yet undeniable comfort of Gale’s body beside him, the drow lets his eyes fall closed; and it’s not long before he finally slips away into sleep, Gale’s easy voice still echoing in his ears.

i know tes lore says that biracial children are the race of their mother, but i think that's dumb. i mean i get why a human or elf couldn't have a child with a khajiit or argonian, genetically speaking. that's not just interracial, but interspecies. however, those scientists that accidentally made a new fish could be onto something... i'm getting off topic.

Anyways. i know human/mer or mer/mer couples could have biological children that wouldn't just be "race of the mother". so does anyone have biracial characters (player character or not) and would you be willing to tell me about them and which features they received from which parent?

My ESO main is half Maormer (mother) half Dunmer (father). He’s got a lot of his mother’s features - fin ears, subtle scales, pointed teeth - but his hair and eyes are dark, like his father’s. His skin tone is kind of a blend, a medium greyish blue.

Gale belt is done!!

This was definitely the most technically difficult part of this cosplay so far, between figuring out the pattern of all the little pieces and delving into actual leatherworking, which I’ve never done before. I enjoyed the stamping, the rest of it not so much lol. I picked out a more geometric pattern than what’s on the fancier version of this belt in game to match one of the robe fabrics. I’m super pleased with the end result!
