The pair are buying a ship and are going to travel the world together; finding Azran artefacts and battling sea monsters along the way.

@layton-npc-appreciation-week Day 7: Hazel! (the squirrel. Not the guy.)

I hadn’t chosen an animal character yet, nor one from AL, so Hazel seemed like a good choice. It’s nice to see a friendly face after plummeting into some unknown woods.

Thanks so much to the organizers of this event; it was really fun! The Layton series really stands out for every character, no matter how small, being designed with a unique look and personality. It really helps the world feel alive, and they deserve to be appreciated! Activities like these are a great way to band together as we wait for NWoS.

A bit late but for the @layton-npc-appreciation-week, I wanted to talk about Beth from The Last Specter:

Mostly because I've only now realized how important she's for the plot, years after playing LS for the first time.

Title: The Puzzle-Solver’s Wife

Spoilers: For the LMJ anime and for PL4

Description: Five times Marina couldn’t solve a puzzle on her own… and one time she succeeded.

Set: Before and during the LMJ anime. References are made to Steam Bison— the setting for Professor Layton and The New World of Steam— but this is just vague speculation as we don’t even have a release date for the game yet.

Warnings: Character gets lost in a city… Light reference to a university party with drinking and insinuations made by from Marina’s friends about her taking a boy home— nothing actually happens… The rest of events are seen during LMJ— including characters being taken hostage and imprisoned.

Note: This is a little late for @layton-npc-appreciation-week, but there we go

@layton-npc-appreciation-week Day 6: Puzzle Gal 2!

Is she obscure enough? Does she even count as an NPC? Well, she has an unlockable profile in Last Specter, so I think so!

I love that LS had profiles for the “puzzle crew” and wish they had continued it. Gal 2 has such a cute and silly design, and she’s optimistic and full of energy. I remember making up names for the puzzle characters when I was younger, and I think I called her Maggie.

I almost forgot about the last day!! fjdhfd SO I went with Nils, I really liked him! His design is super cute and I loved all his almost snarky commentary and smarts about the goings on in Monte d'Or... and it's lacklustre police force haha. I just thought he was a lot of fun - and maybe kind of ripping off Henry's fashion sense jdhfsjdf
