T-May-NT Day 16: Favorite Episode
OK, THIS WAS A HARD CHOICE because, favorite episode?? Of any TMNT canon??? That's a tall order and I had so so many that I debated picking... however, there's one episode that I would always choose to watch as a kid, one that I still adore to this day, so I stuck with it without thinking too much about all of the other choices I could make because then I would never be able to pick just one.
Turtles in Space (Part 3): The Big House, from TMNT 2003! One of my favorite episodes of all time, there are just so many little moments from it that made it a childhood favorite, and it still holds up so well rewatching it now <3

All the Mikey's are so good, it was hard to pick "the best" but EVERYTHING Batman Mikey says and does are Pure Gold and never fail to make me laugh. He geeks out over Penguin's umbrella. He skateboards through Wayne Mayor and is still surprised that Batman is Bruce Wayne. His brain short circuits when told it's "not the time for pizza". And he calls dibs on the Batmobile. How can you not love him

Day 17 of @tmaynt Prompt: Best Mikey!
This one did take a bit of thinking as, while I'm not the biggest Mikey fan now, I did used to be a Mikey fan. A big one....you might say... Crazy as it sounds, while I crushed on Don and still do, Mikey was actually my first TMNT crush. Yeah, When your young and dumb and start crushing on anyone who makes you laugh, go figure Mikey would get me to start liking him!
Now, I've grown out of that, and while i still like Mikey, his character just doesn't do it for me anymore. Tho, he is adorable, and he definitely is peak little brother material! And I like RISE Mikey a bit more, then all of them! While i feel all the Mikey's are creative and artistic in some way, RISE actually seems to make it more obvious and play a bigger role in his character as a whole.
Day 17: Best Mikey
Who else than Turtle titan himself? I like all Mikey's I know of but this boy has that something that I like. And me trying to get some comic book vibe to it as he likes comic books and he is a superhero. I know he had a new version of his superhero suit but this one just had the nostalgia on it as it is his first suit when he became a Turtle titan.
Day 17 of @tmaynt! For whatever reason, Mikey is the hardest of the Rise turtles for me to draw. But I love him, so I definitely have to start drawing him more often!

I think 12 Donnie is so cute. He's less inventor and more mechanic. He's got the coolest aesthetic in all his inventions. It looks like trashcore meets steampunk meets apocalypse mechanic with a flair, because all his stuff is usually painted. I used to think Mikey got to paint his in creations but usually a lot of what he shows his brothers is a surprise so I think he graffitis his own stuff.
I don't like drawing vehicles but I made the effort for Donnie.
I got two of 'em! First, our wonderful baby boy from 2k3! And I, of course, don't need to give you all the reasons I love him!
And second, Mikey from the Archie run! Until 2k3 came out, he was THE Mikey in my mind. I loved his characterization, and I honestly believe that the 2k3 crew based their version on him.
The poor guy did go through hell, though. He got blinded by a Molotov cocktail, then was captured and tortured by the government.
But even after all the doctor put him through, Mikey still had the heart to save him when he was drowning.
(Also... damn, Donnie...)
He also happened to be one half of the only TMNT ship I ever actually had... and certainly the only one I ever wrote anything for (even If I was the only one writing anything for that ship!)
Oh, yeah... and in the future, he becomes an artist and runs an orphanage!

Day 17 of TMayNT: Fav Mikey
I was NOT intending to fully render this piece whatsoever, in fact, my plan yesterday was to get ahead of the prompt list but NOPE. Instead, I fell in love with the sketch and the lineart never looked the way i wanted it to, so i decided to PAINT OVER IT. GOD. It took me so long, but i am VERY happy with how this piece came out.
Fun fact for you: I was around 12? Or so when the 2012 series came out, prime middle schooler, going through puberty, and I was THE 2012 Mikey defender. Iād get into actual fights with my brothers about him. It was all because I was the youngest in my family and also had to deal with older brothers constantly poking fun and teasing, so I felt a lot of kinship with Mikey lmao.
As soon as I saw this prompt list back in April I knew instantly that Iād be drawing Batman VS TMNT Mikey for todayās prompt. Heās got all the best traits of previous iterations combined into one charming, hilarious, ADHD package. How could you not love that?
@tmaynt Day 16!! I made up for drawing Shiraishi An, CEO of lesbians, from Project Sekai Colorful Stage ft Hatsune Miku and drew my fav episodes from my favourite series.
I have a pretty extensive post about why I love 1987 Raphael, and why I think Raphael vs the Volcano is one of my favourite TMNT episodes ever here. Needless to say, little guy!!!
The Clothes Don't Make the Turles is probably one of the fan favourite Rise episodes. I love it because I'm old, and I love 80s montages, and getting to draw clothes to cover up my inability to draw turtles is always a win. I drew Raph because I just haven't done him yet for Rise. His shapes are way more difficult that Mikey, Donnie or Leo so I suffered for you.
Speaking of suffering, the whole Battle Nexus Arc of 03 is fanTASTIC. The whole arc with Leo getting poisoned, and being taken care of by Donnie, and that mysterious handsome stranger. Like, Leo gets his rabbit boyfriend, that's already a massive W for the arc.
The part I love the most about it ironically has nothing to do with Leosagi though. I think it's so funny Splinter just did not tell his kids he was about to go to a Battle Royale in the middle of the universe(s), that the boys accidentally get themselves entered. And to add the cherry on top, we get both Mikey vs Splinter AND Mikey vs Raph. With Splinter it's a super wholesome moment where Splinter forfeits, passing on the torch to his youngest son.
Then Raph. Oh my GOSH, that section solidified why 03 Mikey is the GOAT. He beats Raph on his own, without even using his weapons. Mikey's not stupid. He knows his personality is a lot to take, and he flat out used it against Raph, as well as using Raph's temper against him. And sure Mikey only wins by a technicality in the end, but in the later seasons when they return to the Nexus he truly wins.
Anyways, enough yapping. Full images under cut.
Day 16 of @tmaynt Prompt: Favorite Episode! I feel like i say this a lot, but I fucking mean it when I say this was a HARD choice to make! My favorite episodes are "Garbageman", "Tales of Leo", "What a Croc", "Big Brawl 1-4", "The Lesson", "The Darkness Within", "Same As It Never Was", "The People's Choice", "Good Genes 1&2", "Ninja Tribunal", and then pretty much all of Season 5!
With that said, the two closest to my heart are "Same As It Never Was" and "Good Genes 1&2". But the only one I can watch more then once without wanting to cry is "Good Genes". Mostly so I don't have to watch three of the boys all get murdered on screen! Season 4 was so fucked man..but I still enjoyed it.
