Requests are closed except for showerproof skins

If you'd like me to showerproof an existing set of skins for a body shape, feel free to DM me. One restriction: I'd like to stick to the body shapes that I've already made stuff for, which are the ones listed under the "Clothing by body shape" heading of my downloads tab. If you'd rather do it yourself, here's a quick tutorial that should help.

A skin palette based on the Solitude set and blue alien skin made by @lilith-sims. It comprises 11 geneticized and townified skins, including defaults for S1-S2-S3-S4 and the alien skin.

Beside that base set, you also get optional sets of repo’d showerproof skins for a variety of body shapes.

This palette will conflict with my previous 11-skin palettes (#1, #2, #3) as I reused the same files to save time on the showerproof skins. This has the upside of giving you the option to use them interchangeably if you want to change up your sims’ looks without compromising their genetics. Like the previous 11-skin palettes, it also conflicts with part of my big realistic palettes (xx).

A skin palette based on a selection of skins from the Wisteria set made by @microscotch and @kestrelteens. It comprises 11 geneticized and townified skins, including defaults for S1-S2-S3-S4 and the alien skin (check out the original set for the other supernatural defaults).

Beside that base set, and this is where lies the added value compared to just getting Microscotch's set directly, you also get optional sets of repo’d showerproof skins for a variety of body shapes.

Hi! Where can I find that adorable blue sunflower shirt in this post? post/770495645034364928/this-is-sonyasims-your-nature-a-hair-for-cu-eu

Hi! It's a Maxis outfit part of the Teen Style stuff pack (tfbodygraphictee). If you don't have that pack, Skell has an edit of the outfit and the separated shirt over there, just don't forget to download the texture files.

MartaXL-MFM showerproof skin fix

I made an oopsie on a file, now fixed. The file is #21 of the repo'd showerproof skins for MartaXL-MFM (not MartaXL, that set is fine) from the wide-range skin palette 2nd edition. Two lines were reversed in a 3IDR, preventing the skin texture from showing up properly on the normal-morph AM body (except when wearing separates).

I reused the same file for skin #10 of this Maxis-match palette, so it needed to be fixed too.

What to do: if you care about MartaXL-MFM skin #21 from the wide-range palette II or MartaXL-MFM skin #10 from the io 0320 palette, please redownload from those posts (only Mega links are up for now, SFS has been unresponsive all weekend).

↑ That's what the problem looked like, sorry for the inconvenience.

A skin palette based on @serabiet / io's 0320 skins and @veronavillequiltingbee / Dreadpirate's V2 edit. It comprises 11 geneticized and townified skins, including defaults for S1-S2-S3-S4 and the alien skin.

Beside that base set, you also get optional sets of repo'd showerproof skins for a variety of body shapes.

For both the base set and the showerproof sets, I reused files from my previous palette so I could save a ton of time on the showerproof skins. For that reason, the 2 palettes conflict with each other (the details on which files I reused are at the very bottom of the post).

A set of 23 geneticized & townified skins, including defaults for S1-S2-S3-S4 and the alien skin (choose between 2 alien options). Also, multiple sets of showerproof versions of these 23 skins, for those of you who are interested in custom body shapes.

This set is an evolution of this skin palette & its accompanying showerproof versions. I reused the old files, meaning that you can switch from the old palette to the new very easily (don't try to combine them though - see details under the cut).

Credit for the original skin textures goes to @whysim, @h0nkytonkangels, Nat / @theboldandthebeautifulsims, @pooklet and Tea Leaf, thank you so much to them!

Update

Added the showerproof set for Lady Apple.

You can find all the stuff I've made for the Lady Apple body shape under my Lady Apple tag.

Butterflysims Hair 054 for PU-EU in my Pooklet-Digi-Io palette, based on the io retexture that @timeparadoxsims did here. Info on the included meshes here. Polycount: 10.5k.

For best optimization, choose only one version. Download for F sims only: SFS / Mega Download for M sims only: SFS / Mega Download for F&M: SFS / Mega

All recolors are binned and familied except for Naberius which is in the custom bin. I use Grenade both as a blond for toddlers-adults and as a grey for elders - if you don't want Grenade for elders, just delete the file that ends with "_grenade_EUgrey".

A little something for the holiday season, I hope you all have a good one. These are Sentate's Fiona Sweater Dress, 4t2 converted and paired with Bunhead's slingback heels by @deedee-sims, converted for Lifa's trans TM & AM-EM. They're categorized as everyday & formal, have fat & preg morphs, the recolors are BSOK’d and teens can be either standalone or repo’d to adults-elders. Polycount: 4,728.

They come only in the 5 patterned recolors shown on the titlecard. I've done this dress before for the same body shapes, but with different shoes and in different recolors, over here.

Further previews under the cut.

Hi! I think your showerproof skins are great and I love that bodyshape sims don't have to look wrong when they're in the shower. However, I have a lot of skins I like, that I would love to use on shaped sims. Do you have or know of a tutorial to showerproof skins?

Avatar

Hi! I used this tutorial to learn how to make my first showerproof skins: https://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=89397 It explains how to link a skintone to nude meshes. However, you don't need to do all of that if a skintone for the bodyshape you want has already been created. Then it's much simpler:

First, get the file of the non-showerproof skin that you like, open it in simPE and export all the textures from it from plugin view. You should hopefully be able to tell which sex, age and state (fat, normal, fit) each texture belongs to (just keep in mind that the children and toddler textures are unisex and don't have fat and fit states, and some custom skins don't have different textures for each state for other ages either). Put all those textures aside for now.

Let's say you want to make a showerproof skin for Momma Lisa. Put any of my showerproof skins for Momma Lisa in your downloads folder. Open Bodyshop > Create Parts > Start New Project > Create Genetics > Skin Tone > select the Momma Lisa skin that you put in your downloads folder > Export Selected Textures > give it a name > Import to Game > close Bodyshop > get the newly created file from your SavedSims folder and put it somewhere so you can work on it. That's your new Momma Lisa skin, except for now it has the textures of the skin you cloned it from. You need to replace those textures with the textures that you extracted earlier. Open the new showerproof skin in simPE, open the textures and replace them one by one with the corresponding textures that you extracted. To do so, right-click each texture > Build DXT... > open image > select the appropriate texture that you extracted earlier > change Format to DXT5 > Build. Save when you're done.

If you want to change the thumbnail of your new skin so you can identify it more easily in CAS, you can do that too. Open the new skin in simPE > in the resource tree, click jpg/tga/png Image > in the resource list, right-click jpg/tga/png Image > click Replace > select a picture of your choice (the format has to be .bmp) > click yes & save.

And that's it. I have no idea how familiar with simPE and Bodyshop you are, if you aren't at all then this may not be of any help. If you'd prefer, feel free to let me know which skins you want for which body shapes and I can do them for you, I'll be able to do them quickly and I really don't mind. In fact I've been wanting to showerproof more skins but I'm not sure which would be most useful to the community, so getting requests for them would be helpful.

This is Sonyasims Your Nature, a hair for CU-EU, in my Pooklet-Digi-Io palette. Mesh 4t2 converted by @entropy-sims, made lower-poly by @brandinotbroke and FtM converted by me. The texture is a blend of this io retexture by @fakebloood and this Sunshine retexture by @antoninko. Polycount: 14.4k.

Sonyasims Your Nature is a hair that was 4t2 converted by @entropy-sims. @brandinotbroke made a lower-poly version of it. Now I come to you with the FtM conversion of that lower-poly version, onto which I pasted all the recolors of the F version that I could find in @krabbysims invaluable database. None of the textures are mine, many thanks to the creators credited below.

All the hairs on this post are for CM-EM. The meshes are around 14.4k poly and retain the smooth-boning and animation of the F version.

Tutorial: adding new shapes to bodyshapes mod

Here's the promised tutorial. I'm sorry about the delay. Please also note that this is for v2 of the mod only; v1 is no longer supported.

Before I begin, I've realized I forgot to credit Quinctia the first time around. Their tattoo boxes and tutorial were where I started experimenting with overlays, and this mod contains resources cloned from their work. So, I'm giving them belated credit here.

First, one very important warning that was exceptionally frustrating to figure out and is responsible for most of the delay: you MUST use SimPE v0.73.44 for this. IIRC, later versions process certain kinds of resources a little differently, and the difference in the resulting package breaks a few kinds of mods/CC. This is apparently among them. Following this tutorial with any version of SimPE past 0.73.44 will very likely damage the character file of the sims the resulting overlay is applied to. (Specifically, in testing I found it to screw up the face and body meshes stored there.) If you test the overlay and the test subject's UI portrait completely blanks out (not just their face texture, but their hair/body/accessories too), then this is probably what's happened, and the best thing to do is throw it all out and start over.

With that out of the way, you'll need...

  • a pair of nude meshes, top and bottom, for each age group the shape is available for. A full-body nude mesh won't work.
  • a full set of seven outfits in the shape, set up as in this tutorial, for each age group the shape is available for. YA/A/E can all use the same outfits as long as they're enabled for all three ages.
  • a shape number. This has to be an eight-digit hex number; the first six digits all have to be zero, and the last two can't be zero or one and can't be the same as any other shape for the same gender. I've got a list here on Dreamwidth of a few numbers I've used or am planning to use. Please leave a comment telling the rest of us which number you're using for any shape you set up.
  • these template files.

You probably want...

  • a hex editor. This is optional, but it speeds things up quite a bit. I'm using HxD in the screenshots.

This is @simborg 4t2 Saurus Damien for PU-EU in my Pooklet-Digi-Io palette, using Simborg's EA + Nouk texture blend. I made small edits to the AM & PU meshes (see under the cut). Polycount: 4.2k.
