The House of Commons in Canada has initiated a petition for a ceasefire in Palestine. Canadian followers and Canadian Tumblr users as a whole— please take a few seconds to stop and sign this.

life update: i have been kinda down with covid again and generally just been so-so in health. not as bad as last time, but im trying to stay out of tumblr too more often to de-stress (im starting to get the same problems i had on twitter here) but if someone wants to reach out from here i will answer eventually

McDonald's is giving out free fries.
Disney is giving out Disney100 cards.
Starbucks is giving out buy one get one frees.
Why? Because their stock prices are falling.
They are losing money because of the boycotts because we are not giving them more money to fund and support the genocide of Palestine.
They're scared.
So they're gonna do whatever they can to get that money.
Keep it up.
Make them cry.
We may not be able to get them all, but the ones we get oh they are gonna suffer.

They really aren't.
Disney had a dip, but McDonalds has been up over the past month and Starbucks was pretty even through October and has been up over the past week.
Meanwhile, companies do promotions through the year because. It's not all because of a poorly organized internet boycott.
If you want to have an impact with your boycott, you really need to listen to people who have been working on this for a while. Like BDS targeting companies actively working with Israeli security. Don't just listen to posts telling you misinformation that's easy to believe and agree with.

i understand highlighting the shock of what israeli attacks are doing to children in palestine, esp if their experiences are being deliberately erased and manipulated by western/zionist media, but a lot of people are using this as a rhetorical strategy to elicit support for palestine based not on the rights and dignity of palestinians as a colonised people, but on the appeal to a concept of ‘innocence’ that is irrelevant to their oppression. zionist state violence does not care whether palestinians are ‘innocent’ or not, let alone the innocence and perfect victimhood of palestinian children, and furthermore why do they have to be hapless and blameless in this manner for you to care what happens to them?

for those of you who don’t know by now, the reason why people are boycotting Starbucks is because workers united made a post publicly “declaring solidarity with Palestine” on @sbworkersunited on Twitter. The corporation is suing the union because of that tweet. The boycotts are working, the employees are quitting, people aren’t showing up to Starbucks all over the world. Share prices are low, it’s working. Boycott Starbucks.
Also McDonald’s has been providing free meals to IDF soldiers in !sr3al so f*ck them too.

oh hey btw, apparently tumblr mobile now has an option to report ads for having flashing lights, if you click the three dots in the top right corner it should show up. not sure how long thats been there but i dont remember it being there at least a few months back, i would venture to guess it came with the recent update but shrug. fucking ridiculous that they cant just not put flashing ads in our faces in the first place, but at least this is an option.
people who dont have issues with flashing lights are allowed and encouraged to reblog

I haven’t seen this linked on here so: this is an awesome resource for how you can help the people in Palestine. It has donation links, helps you figure out how to contact your representatives, and a regularly updated list of planned protests. It is USAmerican centric but the list of protests is international.
If you are American this site has a tool that sends an email for you. All you need to enter is your name, email address, and street address so they can auto-find your senators. It will take 30 seconds.
