Various Artists on Sim Noir

"The Sim Noir painting doesn't have enough recolors." -No one "I'll fix that!" -Me

Into the rabbit hole I went and came back with 50 recolors of the Glamour Life Sim Noir painting. Previewed on the one tile add-on, I also recommend the slightly larger one and the posters.

EpiSims' Isotopia Rug for Sims 4

I wanted to try my hand at something simple and these have actually been done for a month I just haven't had the energy to write up the post.

The originals for sims 2 by @episims can be found here. They're called recolours in the original post but I didn't want this post to be confusing since no mesh is required.

Music Prints on Sim Noir

I felt like getting more art for band venues, record stores, teenager rooms, and music lovers. So I dived into Society6 to find suitable artists and... ended up with 50 recolors. Whoops.

They're on Glamour Life Sim Noir painting, also previewed on my poster add-ons. You can find other add-ons here and there.

Glamour Life SP is required. Not all the recolors are pictured but I included swatches for easier browsing.

Better Argue Anims

For an unknown reason, Maxis used 'agree' talk anims for the argue interaction. Especially weird as it always causes a relationship hit. In my book, that's the opposite of agreeing.

This mod replaces the argue anims with ones that look, well, arguing. No more enthusiastic smiling while being rampaged at.

Should be base game compatible. I don't know anything this conflicts with, but run HCDU to be sure.

Many thanks to @gummilutt for the previews, testing, and giving me the nudge to make this mod after years of avoiding taking pictures of arguing sims lol.

Ebby's TS2 Medieval Book Texture Defaults

So I've been playing historical TS2 games lately and I like to switch my defaults pretty often. When I saw this mod by @episims I found a solution to my problem. I combined some of my favorite book texture mods by DecatSims2, iSimChi, Almighty Hat, FantasyRogue, and TheNinthWaveSims.

You need EpiSims More Book Covers Mod for this one to work. Add the file Epi_MoreBookCovers_Mod into your downloads folder along with my texture defaults and enjoy your new books! I tested it in game and it seems to be working fine, but if there's any issues let me know!

Thank you Epi for your amazing mod and @decat2, @isimchi, Almighty Hat, FantasyRogue, and TheNinthWaveSims for the awesome textures!

Hi Epi 🥰 I've been using and loving your mod for new book defaults and More Books. They are all gorgeous! It's been especially fun since I've been running a bookstore in one of my hoods, utilizing the "sellable novels" mod. While showcasing this on my yt channel, a viewer pointed out that your mod includes a fix for the books spawning on their spines instead of their backs. Turns out that when the books are restocked in the store, this fix doesn't apply. I was wondering if you have any ideas on what could be missing for it to apply also on surfaces/after restock? Do you think an adjustment can be made to your current mod to include this or, if not, would you be able to point me in the right direction how to possibly tweak the mod to include it? Hi Ani! The fix included with the mod stops books from turning on their spines upon loading a lot that has books placed outside of bookshelves. This happened because the 'on spine' is actually the default position of the mesh, it gets rotated when a sim pulls a book out of the shelf. The books had code that made them reset upon loading a lot, which returned the mesh to its default position. I simply stopped them from resetting on that occasion.

Restocking is its own thing completely. The books turn on their spines because when the restock book is summoned, it's in its default position. With objects like this that need further tweaking Maxis uses check trees that get called upon restocking.

It's possible to add that kind of CT but it would be more work to write a tutorial than I can currently afford. Also, I feel like the mod that turns novels sellable should fix this in the first place. Restocking is a part of making them OFB-compatible after all.

So I'd suggest contacting whoever made that mod, if possible. Sorry that this answer isn't super helpful.

Hi! Sorry for the delay, I'm on semi-hiatus. Recently, @ramblinsims tested this and it seemed to work for her on apartment lots as well, so I'm not sure why it won't work for you. Have you checked if there are conflicts with other mods?

Ebby's TS2 Aged Diary Defaults

8 Diary Texture Defaults Based on Aspiration

I was inspired by @episims & @isimchi's diary defaults when I made these. I've recently been playing more historical hoods and castaway hoods and was looking for a good diary default.

In order to be able to have a different default for each aspiration you need 2 mods by @midgethetree. I have included the mods in the download to make things easier, but I will remove them if Midge asks me to. Without the mods you will only have one default for the diaries.

Re-enabled diary textures & Aspiration Based Diary Textures

The textures I used and recolored were by @alfredaskew & @isimchi

AlfredAskew's Book Defaults (Old/aged book textures) & iSimChi's Diary Defaults (the gold on the wealth book).

I briefly tested these in game, but if there's any issues please let me know and I will try my best to fix it!

Two recolors for the Billy bookcase books. Ikea Stuff Pack required. I've wanted to give these books some more options as well ever since I did my other book recolors but I lost interest over time and never finished what I started. Then @episims made some beautiful new book covers and a mod for different book covers which included @isimchi's quirky covers and so I got inspired again.

So these two recolors use the textures of those two book cover defaults. They don't align perfectly, and some covers are rotated but as usual that is because of the way the mapping of this bookcase works. Some of the texture overlaps each other and so there are some small lines of different colors along the books, but if you ever zoomed in at the original textures you will notice mine align a lot better already (the originals have a lot of black lines around the books).

I thought it would be fun to include the .psd this time because most of the work is finding out where exactly to place the textures. Just place new textures over mine and you will have pretty new books in no time! You can also mix and match some of mine, both recolors are included in the file.

4T2 Comfy Gamer Kit

Myself and SpringSims wanted to convert this kit together, so we collaborated and did the entire thing!

There are a few options with some of the items, so please read carefully. Details are under the cut!

Sims 2 Mod: Change into Gym clothes to Jump Rope

I saw this thread: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=642662 and thought it was a nice idea.

With this mod the sim will spin into Gym clothes to Jump Rope and spin out of it when they finish.

I included Cyjon’s “Jump Rope Fitness“ because it conflicts, you have to delete that mod if you already have it.

UPDATE: I made a new version with Jumping Ropes by Color Traits (By @episims​, thanks Epi!).

Simlish Posters

I always need more simlish posters for my game so here's some more! @episims was kind enough to let me convert their simlish posters (1,2,3,4) to Sims 4. If you play sims 2 then check out the originals linked above.

I also got some from Canva and Freepik and swapped the font out.

  • episims' swatches are in one package and mine are in the other.
  • Custom thumbnails
  • For my swatches I used various simlish fonts from franzillasims, some from MTS and a couple from ratboysims. (Canva made deciphering the font names hard)
