My brain randomly generated this thought and it is a banger:
Alex and co. (Clyde, Simon, The Flock, 66, Kenneth, and possibly Winfrey) discovers and uses an abandoned but functional radio station to persuade the town to not believe the foundation, the police, and especially Lankmann.
Cue the "Stayed Gone" banter and finale.

Okay but adding on my two cents to the “escaping the house in time” bit I just. Alex breaking down, and then Clyde comforting him. Like @secret-spirit ‘s art with the “you won’t be alone again” line from the family photo album is just making me think of how long Clyde must’ve been without Winfrey. Like, it knows kind of what it feels like sorta to be in Alex’s situation, and it doesn’t know what happened or what will happen, but it knows it’s not going to let him be alone like it was. Winfrey’s been gone for god knows how long and while Alex can’t ever substitute, he’s certainly helped, even if Clyde’d never like to admit it. It cares, and it’ll help, and it won’t let Lankmann take that away again

This is one of the many things I like about fandom and fan communities: the collaborative effort and engagement of fans to make something amazing.
From my experience, an event like this happened in the Stanley Parable fandom as evident with the existence of the Paraverse and Lovebug AU. Now, we have the Dreams of an Insomniac fandom with the DOAI Sitcom AU. Just fans communicating and contributing to a bigger and fascinating picture and I greatly enjoy it.
It only takes a few passionate and joyous fans to make something interesting and amazing for others to follow along.
I hope to see an occurrence like this happen in future fandoms.

I may or may not conceptualize the idea that Alex slowly develops Veldigun traits and abilities the more he spends time with other Veldiguns (i.e. Clyde)

here’s my two cents if your interested
Alex knew something was wrong because of the physical contact he’s had with Clyde. He knows about the symptoms whenever a human makes physical contact with a veldigun. His job taught him about it. He’s been awaited any sort of symptom from his exposure, but they never come
and that’s when the panic sets in. Because if he isn’t experiencing normal symptoms from human-veldigun interaction
then what the hell is going on
