It’s the fact that becoming elizabeth was cancelled JUST as we were about to dive into the lore of elizabeth and robert :’) like we suffered through watching trash thomas dominating the screen and for what?? Just can’t believe the writers fumbled what could have been one of the greatest love stories on screen so hard.
I KNOW RIGHT. WE WERE WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG AND IN THE END IT WAS JUST A THOMAS SEYMOUR SHOW.
Like I always knew I couldn't hope for much giving it was Starz producing the show but I thought we'd have an elizabeth story, focused obvoiusly in her siblings and Jane too, giving the time period, but they wasted almost all the season on trash Thomas.
The author said it needed more viewing rantings to get a second season -where she had planned to really give us bess x robin- but you cannot think you'll have big numbers with so little promotional work and having a script where you weren't giving your audience what it wanted. Because us -the niche viewers- were excited for this show because it would show us the years that have so little adaptations , with ALL THE PLAYERS and showing us a real elizabeth.

rewatching ONE episode of becoming elizabeth and thinking again about everything we could have had... that we didn't all because poor promotional and script decisions... like the non existence promo was all trash starz but having the show so centered on trash thomas was A and THE decision that crashed everything.
the actors were so good. what a waste
