Neville didn’t mean to eavesdrop, didn’t mean to accidentally stumble into a group of his Slytherin classmates teasing you about your crush on Neville. You feigned indifference, rolling your eyes at their silly remarks, but your eyes immediately widened with panic when you all turned around to see Neville standing a short distance away from you, his own eyes mirroring a similar shock as you know he heard everything.

You resist the urge to run away with embarrassment, opting to instead march right to Neville, who gulps as her nervously shifts his weight between his feet, unsure of what to say as his tongue feels heavy in his mouth. Meeting your gaze, Neville asks, “Did… did I hear them right? Do you- do you have a crus—”

“Yes.” you blurt, interrupting Neville as you run your hands through your hair. Flashing him a shy smile as you can see a tiny smile tugging at the corner of Neville’s lips, you continue, “Secret’s out, I guess. I might have a bit of a crush on you.”
