If you don't draw garden-slut glorfindel, I'm gonna be so disappointed
I’d hate to disappoint you!!!
Elves consider long hair to be sexy and seeing as Glorfindel is supposed to be such a beauty I gave him stupid long hair! And a sword! Cuz he’s a badass warrior! If you are confused, check out the original post. XD
Drawn on paper with a pencil. Scanned and inked in Photoshop using a tablet. Coloured in Photoshop.
Glorfindel went about in a mantle embroidered in threads of gold, diapered with celandine “as a field in spring” . Source
Guys. I have consulted with Google the Grey who has recommended me to Wiki the White…
The hottest elf in elfdom went around diapered with nipplewort. If that didn’t make him sexy enough, another common name for it is swallowwort. What was Tolkien trying to say about Glorfindel?
Before you start picturing Glorfindel with nippley underpants, i should also explain that ‘diapered’ in this context doesn’t mean what you might think it means.
Pretty sure Tolkien meant the second definition featured here.
Still. What I’m getting from thirty seconds of Googling is that Glorfindel was a hunky elf dude covered with slutty herbs.
Am I wrong, tho?
Also, how judgey is the Google-picked definition of the word ‘diaper’? Put a diaper on PARENTHESES A BABY END PARENTHESES! I would argue that putting a diaper on anything is diapering. I can diaper a potted plant. I can diaper an adult. I can diaper an indoor goat (apparently).
Also-also, the first definition is confusing because it’s defining the verb ‘diaper’ by using the noun ‘diaper’ so it looks like it’s using itself to define itself which is a no-no.
Hmmph. Look. Sometimes a lady orc just wants to be pretty, okay? I was reading up on different theories about orc reproduction and it seems to be generally thought that orcs reproduce like any other creature which means there are female orcs. (The evidence behind this is that only Eru Ilúvatar can create life and Melkor simply corrupted some of Eru Ilúvatar’s creations to make orcs.)
Anyhow, I just wanted to draw an orc wearing a flower crown. Given that it’s an orc, I decided to make it out of black-eyed Susans because the name is reminiscent of the violence inherent to orc society. Also, black-eyed Susans stand for encouragement which seemed appropriate. XD You go be the most evilest orc you can be! You got this! Gnarrr! Death to light! :D
Why do I even keep posting what materials I used? I just use the same thing! 0.1mm and 0.3mm Staedtler pigment liners on Paris Bleedproof paper. Coloured in Photoshop. Interesting fact? I am doing cell shading because I don’t have a tablet (BUT ONE IS WAITING FOR ME TO PICK IT UP EDIT: Picked it up last night!) and I’m not dexterous enough to manipulate the touch pad on my laptop to paint properly. XD
Duuuude! Not only is there the big light-up mirror but there’s also a light-up magnifying mirror mounted on the wall with one of those mechanical arm things! It made me regret not bringing tweezers! I could see everrryyyyttthhiiiinnnngggg!
Just to fuel your desire… the big light-up mirror shines a square ‘frame’ made of light around your pupils! I woke up, turned on the mirror, and looked my cyborg self in the face.
