Request – Deucalion “Touched his heart”

This shouldn’t happen… this couldn’t be the end… You had thought it was safe to walk home alone, that it had been enough now Boyd was dead. They had done what they wanted, they went after Derek, after Scott, and even though you had wanted to stay to protect your Alpha, you were sent home to get some sleep. Well needed sleep, you had to admit. Even the stamina of a werewolf reached their limits. You weren’t paying attention when you walked home, until you heard a familiar ticking behind you. When you turned around, you saw Kali walking there, smiling.
“What do we have here?” You backed up a few steps, scared and angry at the same time.
“Didn’t you do enough already?” An answer didn’t came, just a smile on her face when she walked on towards you.
“Kali!” Another voice came out of the dark. Not that that voice made you less scared. In the light of the streetlamp you saw Deucalion stepping out of the dark. “I can’t remember telling you to harass her?” She shrugged.
“You didn’t.” He did a few steps forward, his cane in front of him, feeling his way down. Even though he couldn’t see, he walked as sure as everyone else.
“Then I’d advise you to leave, before I remember what to do when you don’t follow my instructions…” She turned around, walking away. You thought about running, but the man in front of you scared you so much that you didn’t manage to move, to get away. When the sound of the nails clicking on the asphalt had disappeared, he walked towards you.
“I’m sorry about that… I never told them they could hurt you.” You looked at him, mouth open, surprised about the sudden friendly tone you had never heard with him before.
“Lost your tongue?” You nodded, but then realized that he couldn’t see that.
“Why… why did you do that?” He stretched his arm out towards you.
“Let me accompany you home, then I can tell you on the way…” You didn’t dare to ignore him, so you let him grab your arm and started walking.
“I thought you wanted to wipe us out?” He laughed a bit.
“I could have expected that you would only hear the negative parts about us… I just want my pack as strong as possible. Just like Derek, just like Scott, even when he doesn’t want to admit it. That’s all.”
“And that’s why you come here to disturb all our lives, and kill our friends?”
“An unfortunate side-effect… I’m sorry about that… It wouldn’t be you though. It would never be you.” You looked at him, and even though the sunglasses prevented you from seeing his eyes, you saw his expression become softer, almost tender.
“And why wouldn’t it be me?”
“Haven’t you ever noticed when we talked before?” You thought back, remembered the few conversations you had had with him, and you couldn’t remember if he had ever threatened you, but you didn’t know what he was talking about.
“Noticed what?”
“That I’m in love with you… I know it is quite stupid for the Alpha of the Alpha’s to fall in love, but you have managed to touch something in me that has never been touched before.” You could only stare at him.
“Why aren’t you saying anything? I just poured my heart out for you…”
“Because… because that was the last thing I expected…” was all you could say in return.
