FYI for any binding folks: What works best for me to get out of a binder (the only way I can do it, mind you I have a full length binder from gc2b) is to 1-Fold up the front and back of the binder up to the seam between the stretchy bottom and top panel. 2-Grab the bottom-now-top back of the binder, which should be near the base of your neck, with one hand, using your other hand to help you grab it. 3-Grab with both hands 4-Pull up, then lean forward and pull straight out.

Here’s an example video of someone taking off their binder.

On a related note, here’s what to do if you’re stuck:

  • Put your right hand on the left side of your binder, and the left hand on the right side, and pull up.
  • If that doesn’t work, try pulling your arms out of the arm holes and pulling it downwards
  • If that doesn’t work, try pulling the straps upwards or grabbing the center back of the neckline and pulling it upward.
  • If that doesn’t work, try get a friend to help you
  • If there’s no friend / it didn’t work, you may need to cut it off and replace it. However a binder shouldn’t be so tight that you get stuck!
