Dean watched as the two of you embraced and shared another kiss before your significant other climbed into the cab and the tail lights faded and disappeared around the corner.

“Dude,” Sam said, seeing Dean watching at the window. “Want to downgrade the creepy factor?” he said with a teasing smirk at his older brother.

You turned away from the direction the car had gone and started heading back towards the room. “Hmm?” Dean let the curtains fall back into place and turned towards Sam, not really having heard what he said.

Sam only laughed and shook his head, and Dean went back to trying to shove down the green monster rearing in his chest and imagining himself in the place of your partner… His hands finding your hips and lower back and his lips pressed against yours… winning the smiles he loved to win even now, but following them with a kiss pressed over your smiling lips.

And he would never have to get in a cab and watch you fade from him out the back window. He wouldn’t have to leave. He wouldn’t leave you alone. He’d be there each morning to see you wake, by your side through every day, and tangled with you to pass each night.
