Blog Tour #Review + #Giveaway: NAMELESS by Jennifer Jenkins
Y’all…. I am so excited to welcome you here today to give you all the details on NAMELESS by Jennifer Jenkins, including my review of this awesome book! This is another amazing title from Month9Books, and I was lucky to get my hands on an e-ARC so that I could read it and share my thoughts with you. The book doesn’t come out until next Tuesday, October 6, so I promise there will be no spoilers! Also, in case the deets and my review aren’t enough to interest you (as if!), get this: NAMELESS is in development for film with Benderspink! Sound familiar? That’s right, it’s the same company that optioned the rights to Victoria Aveyard’s RED QUEEN and produced the I AM NUMBER FOUR film! So, friends, read on to see why you need this book in your life.
The Book:
Title: Nameless
Author: Jennifer Jenkins
Publisher: Month9Books
Release Date: 6 October 2015
Genres: YA, Dystopian
Four clans have been at war for centuries: the Kodiak, the Raven, the Wolf and the Ram. Through brutal war tactics, the Ram have dominated the region, inflicting death and destruction on their neighbors.
Seventeen-year-old Zo is a Wolf and a Healer who volunteers to infiltrate the Ram as a spy on behalf of the allied clans. She offers herself as a Ram slave, joining the people who are called the “nameless.” Hers is a suicide mission – Zo’s despair after losing her parents in a Ram raid has left her seeking both revenge and an end to her own misery. But after her younger sister follows her into Rams Gate, Zo must find a way to survive her dangerous mission and keep her sister safe.
What she doesn’t expect to find is the friendship of a young Ram whose life she saves, the confusing feelings she develops for a Ram soldier, and an underground nameless insurrection. Zo learns that revenge, loyalty and love are more complicated than she ever imagined in the first installment of this two-book series.

The Author:
With her degree in History and Secondary Education, Jennifer had every intention of teaching teens to love George Washington and appreciate the finer points of ancient battle stratagem. (Seriously, she’s obsessed with ancient warfare.) However, life had different plans in store when the writing began. As a proud member of Writers Cubed, and a co-founder of the Teen Author Boot Camp, she feels blessed to be able to fulfill both her ambition to work with teens as well as write Young Adult fiction.
Jennifer has three children who are experts at naming her characters, one loving, supportive husband, a dog with little-man syndrome, and three chickens (of whom she is secretly afraid).

My 5-Star Review:
So, doesn’t the book sound amazing?? Well, believe me when I tell you – IT IS! You need this book in your life. Yes, it’s “yet another” YA Dystopian – but I promise you, it feels so different and unique, you will not feel like you’re reading “yet another” anything. I absolutely LOVED the world that Ms. Jenkins created for us, and I felt like I was there with the characters through everything that happened. I could envision what Ram’s Gate looked like, as if from an eagle’s eye view, because that is how the author described it. I could see the soldiers tromping through town, imagining them in their Roman-style uniforms (that’s how I envisioned them!); and I cringed whenever the Seer came on scene, visualizing her in a black, Nazi-style getup with tight trousers tucked into jackboots and a whip in her hand. I could not just see, but *feel*, the mud caked on Zo’s face, and I felt her shame every time she encountered the Gate Keeper. I felt Zo’s hatred of the Ram, her compassion for the Nameless, her horror at seeing her little sister at the entrance to Ram’s Gate and her unending devotion to keeping her safe. This, truly, is the mark of a great writer – the ability to make you see, hear, feel everything the characters are going through. If for no other reason than that, you need this book!
But there are so many more reasons you need this book, I promise. I will not list them in detail - I promised no spoilers! - but the pros of this book far outweigh the cons. Okay, so that’s because there aren’t any cons!! But you get what I mean. I could not stand to let go of my Kindle while I was reading Nameless, and I devoured it as quickly as I could. Even just writing this review has my heart beating faster and my stomach vacillating between butterflies and being tied in knots as I wonder how much longer it will be before I can get my hands on book 2! I cannot say enough good things about this book, and although I could go on and on, I feel I would be repeating myself because I just want you to know HOW AMAZING THIS BOOK IS AND HOW MUCH YOU WILL LOVE READING IT AND WHAT A COUP IT IS THAT MONTH9BOOKS GRABBED THIS NOVEL FOR PUBLICATION BEFORE THOSE BIG PUBLISHING HOUSES GOT WIND OF WHAT AN AMAZING STORY JENNIFER JENKINS HAS TOLD! Do you feel me? Do you get what I’m saying?! I hope you do!! Because I want to shout from the rooftops that anyone and everyone who loves all that is good about young adult fiction, dystopian world-building, phenomenal character creation and development, and gorgeous writing MUST.
