The soft tune of The 1975 accompanied the quiet Thursday night as both you and your boyfriend Tom tried to cram Science notes into your heads. He was laying down on the floor with a pencil tucked behind his ear and a spiral notebook open in front of him. You lay opposite him, half asleep with your eyes drooping. Tom seemed to notice you falling asleep and he chuckled, putting down his pen. Crawling towards you, he pressed a kiss onto your head to wake you up.

“You should go to sleep, Y/N,” he softly said, rubbing your arm as you yawned. Stubbornly, you waved your hand dismissively.

“No, I need to study,” you groaned. He shook his head and took the textbook away from your hands, closing it and putting it beside him.

“Go to sleep, you need rest,” he tried again.

“I don’t want to fuckin-”

“Y/N!” Tom laughed, “it’s 3 am, why are we even still awake?”

“Because I don’t wanna fail the test tomorrow,” you whined.

“You’re not going to if you get enough sleep. I’m not getting your consent,” Tom said, already sliding his hands under your legs and the small of your back. Without looking as if it required any effort, he lifted you off the ground and carried you to your bed. You gave in and clung onto his neck, snuggling your head into his neck.

He put you on the bed but you didn’t let go. You grabbed his arm and pulled him down with you, causing him to fall right beside you on the bed.

“You’re going down with me,” you mumbled, making him grin. You were so tired you had no control over the gibberish that was coming out of your mouth. He rolled his eyes playfully but layed next to you, wrapping his arms around you. Your back was facing his chest and he sighed with content when you interlocked your fingers together.

The music from your iPod was still playing but you let it play softly in the background.

Tom’s warmth enveloped you and you shut your eyes, taking in every moment. Having this boy wrapped around you was actual pure bliss.

“I love you,” you randomly blurted out loud.

For a moment, it seemed like everything went quiet. Tom froze, his eyes widened and mouth agape. He blinked quickly and tried to say something, which made you panic. Crap, maybe he didn’t feel the same way.

You turned around, facing him and an apology already forming in your head.

“Sorry maybe that was too - “

“You love me?” he asked quietly.

“Of course I do,” you answered, “why wouldn’t I?”

He slowly smiled, a huge simper plastered across his face.

“Really?”

“Yes, Thomas,” you giggled, using his real name.

Tom’s eyes softened and he pursed his lips, his hand cupping your cheek.

Your stomach did a flip. You knew what was coming.

His eyes wandered down to your lips and you smiled shyly, staring back at him.

“Can I?” he questioned.

“You may,” you breathlessly replied, leaning in and closing your eyes.

When you kissed, it didn’t feel like fireworks. It was an indescribable feeling. Nothing in the world could compare to the pure bliss you were feeling. You savoured the feel of his lips and the way he held your chin, while practically melting in his arms. He smiled into the kiss, making you feel weaker.

You pulled away slowly, trying to catch your breath. His lips were still pursed and his eyes were closed, but the tiny smile never left his face.

Let’s just say one kiss wasn’t enough.
