Continuing my art dump, here is the next therapy illustration. Cassian has been goof-balling his way through my appointments and medication wait times for the past several months, and this past weekend he ended his shift. Definitely cheered my spirits doing this illustration, a companion to Rhys’ Invisible Lint illustration from last year (also a therapy illustration while I was dodging hurricanes!)
He’s already licensed and up for pre-order in my main shop. (Will be added to Etsy after September 10)
Tired of Aelin yet? ;)
This special Kingdom of Ash papercraft will be part of an upcoming giveaway on Instagram this week! Follow me on Instagram @rosiethorns88 to keep an eye out for the announcement! (link in tumblr description)
This was a fun pose! Outfit is from the back cover of Kingdom of Ash, of course. I imagined if Aelin had turned around while brandishing the sword, she’d huff a breath of fire to remind the audience of her true namesake.
Kingdom of Ash is nearly here! To celebrate, here is part two of the four-piece ToG / HoF papercraft series.
I consider Aelin’s part in Heir of Fire my favorite arc in the ToG series. She reached her lowest point as an assassin, broken and lost, and came bursting out at the end as our queen! This scene in particular was a first turning point for her and I hope I could relay the emotions she was feeling (as well as Rowan’s) as she began to free and embrace her true self.
Work in Progress for next paper-craft. A companion piece to the recent Cruel Prince paper-craft scene, this one will feature the main trio from Holly Black’s The Darkest Part of the Forest
Fun new teaser for next papercraft! Did I mention I love crafting
ambigrams? There will still be characters and settings to build, but
this will be the centerpiece! :)
My weekend is gone, dedicated to satiating this question. But I feel no regrets other than any unwanted emotions this piece gives to you. I am so sorry.

After a brief absence, I’m back with another papercraft! This time featuring the main duo from #aceofshades by @amandafoody! This was such a great read/listen and I was enthralled with the story, characters and atmosphere of the city.
This piece is chock full of symbolism from the book - especially around the Shadow Game cards. I had such a fun time putting it together, with lots of juicy details! Got this out of my system, but I can’t wait for the next installment next year!
More Jude studies! While Holly Black’s character descriptions can be vague, her clothing and hair styles are lush with detail. *_* Jude’s coronation dress, inspired by sleeveless 17th Century ball gowns.
(Can’t recall if Jude is left handed or not, but I threw in Nightfell on her right side at the last minute)
Dropping this artwork of Emily and Wendell from Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries by @heather_fawcett !(the cool mechanical pencil is BACK!)
I had such a pleasant time reading the wrap-up to this trilogy in Emily Wilde’s Compendium of Lost Tales. I love the transition of Emily dipping her toe into Faerie from the real world in Book #1, having a foot in both worlds in Book #2, and keeping a toe in the real world while in Faerie in Book #3. It created new backdrops and stakes through her journaling journey, with Book #3 being the stakiest stakes of the three!
Absolutely love these two DOLTS (Wendell’s words, not mine), the best grumpy-sunshine couple since Howl and Sophie. So sad to see them go, but this trilogy seems so easy to pick up and reread again!
I want to thank @delreybooks for providing me both an arc and a hard copy of Compendium; I hope to do another papercraft standee featuring the whole trilogy set soon!
