Join us for NightSeeing Berlin: 2013 with Theatrum Mundi on May 23. Starting at Akademie Der Kunst, Leni Schwendinger will lead a LightWalk through the lights and shadows of the surrounding neighborhoods, riverside and streets.

TOUR DESCRIPTION:
As the sun sets, the Berlin 2013 LightWalk attendees will depart the Akademie der Künste, and amble through Hansaviertel, the remarkable, 1950’s, modernist, housing-estate project. This “city of tomorrow” features buildings by architects Alvar Aalto, Walter Gropius and Oscar Niemeyer. After crossing the river Spree via the Hansabridge and its impressive vistas, our intrepid urban hikers will enter the historical section of inner-city Moabit along the northern promenade. A special treat, the unusual variety of street lighting – from historical gas-lights to newly implemented LED lamps – will be discussed. Glancing at the remnants of the historically significant, stone Borsigbridge, built in 1905, we will end the tour at the ProMo Bar at Dortmunder Strasse 8.
