Because of an embargo, U.S. exports of cars to Cuba ceased in 1960. The majority of cars still seen in Havana especially are vintage American and European cars from the 1940s, and 1950s. The owners have Frankensteined them with various other modern car parts to keep them working for so long. 🚗

I was there with a film crew shooting for @sony and shot this out of the back of an open van to capture this scene. Was super fun! These are operating taxis that people can hire (as I did the last night I was there) 😀 (at Malecón, Havana)
