“You’re back.” You said rather quietly, catching a glimpse of Derek smirking before his lips turned back into a straight line. You heard chains rattling at the other side of the door even louder than they were before. You swore to yourself that when you got out of the loft you would personally kill Scott and Stiles, very slowly and painfully.
“Scott called, said he needed my help with the Dread Doctors.” He answered simply as you rolled your eyes. The pack had defeated the Dread Doctors months ago and luckily everything was quiet, making it able for you to focus of your studies and looking up colleges that you wanted to apply to.
“You got played. The Dread Doctors are long gone.” You replied, making it Derek’s turn to roll his eyes.
“Is it that bad then? That I’m back?” He questioned, looking into your eyes. You stared into his, and you swore that your heart skipped a beat. What you didn’t admit to anyone, except for Kira who was your best friend, was that you missed Derek terribly. Deep down you understood that the reason why he didn’t tell you about him being a werewolf was to protect you. But when you found out it hurt more than anything. It hurt knowing that he didn’t trust you with that big of a secret.
“That depends. How much are we going to see each other?” You asked, hoping to gain an answer from him. But you didn’t. Instead he fell silent, looking deep in thought, just like he was searching for the right words to use. You took a step closer to him, a small smile appearing onto your face.
“I missed you, Derek. I really did.” You simply said, earning a smile from Derek. His smile turned into a grin, making you roll your eyes at his smugness.
“But if you keep that creepy grin on your face, I’m taking my words back!”
