Ready for some GOOD
NEWS? Trumpcare has been
defeated.
We are SO pleased to announce this, and we thank you for being with us every step of the way. We won this victory because you got on the bus to D.C. to rally and lobby, organized over 275 events, and made thousands of calls to protect access to Planned Parenthood! You made the difference!
Planned Parenthood of New York City and Planned Parenthoods across the country will continue to be a resource for all people, no matter what. And we will continue to fight HARD to make sure that we will always be there for anyone who needs high-quality, compassionate care.
PPNYC provides care regardless of insurance status or ability to pay
Here’s what this victory will mean:
Though we know this won’t be the end of the attacks on health care, this is a clear and resounding victory.
Today, we’ve seen the power of speaking out and standing up for what’s right. With your support, we will continue to win.
Love,
Your Hot Diggity Friends at Planned Parenthood of New York City
After failing to secure the necessary votes to pass the Senate bill, Senator McConnell is now calling for a vote THIS WEEK on a motion to repeal Obamacare and defund Planned Parenthood. This new bill mirrors the 2015 bill that former President Obama vetoed - and it would have a disastrous effect on health care.
The original Senate bill would take health care away from 22 million people, but Senator McConnell’s new bill is even worse. This new bill would:
Planned Parenthood supporters know that this is hands down the worst bill for women we’ve seen in a generation. That’s why, over the last several months, we have:
And here in NYC, Planned Parenthood supporters have organized more than 275 community events, fundraisers, and actions and we’ve trained over 200 new PPNYC activists! It’s because we’re making our voices heard that the Senate keeps failing to muster enough support to repeal the ACA and defund Planned Parenthood.
They’re counting on us not to fight back - let’s show them how wrong they are.
In solidarity,
Your friends at Planned Parenthood of New York City
Two nights ago, the Senate came one step closer to passing the worst health care bill we’ve seen in a generation. A vote on a bill that would defund Planned Parenthood and take health care away from millions could happen as soon as tomorrow.
That’s why yesterday, we got on a bus to DC with dozens of Planned Parenthood supporters. We will NOT stay quiet - on Tuesday alone, PP supporters made over 13,000 calls to Congress.
Wherever you are today, we are asking that you show your solidarity RIGHT NOW! You’ve been there with us to rally and call - now is the time to urge your friends and followers to join you by using the following tweets:
At PPNYC, we see firsthand the difference that our care makes. Every year, 60,000 people rely on Planned Parenthood of New York City. We never turn anyone away, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay, and our services include everything from pap smears to birth control to breast cancer screenings.

This is what is at stake right now: a person’s ability to receive life-saving care, no matter who they are and how much they make. We know that you stand with us and our mission - health care, no matter what - and we need you to support Planned Parenthood and the millions who rely on us right now.
The bottom line is this: Senators are moving quickly to pass any version of Trumpcare they can, and there’s no time to waste.
If there’s one thing you do today, speak up.
In solidarity,
Your friends at Planned Parenthood of New York City
TRUMPCARE has FAILED. Unless Congress makes extreme moves, millions of people can continue to access care at Planned Parenthood!
We did it - you did it! Thank you for standing with us!!!
Love,
Your dancing friends at Planned Parenthood NYC

I am so proud to be a volunteer with Planned Parenthood. My journey as a volunteer in NYC began eight years ago when I joined the Activist Council. I quickly got involved with the Political Action Group (PAG) and then, became a group Co-Chair. As a PAG member, I have participated in Lobby Days, Phone Bank Events and Community Health Rallies. I am continually inspired by the dedication and passion of the PPNYC staff and volunteers. As a registered nurse (RN) I strive to promote health and wellness in general, but I am especially dedicated to supporting pro-women’s health and reproductive justice initiatives. PPNYC Activists speak out for equitable access to health care in New York City. Politics have no place in health care and that’s why I stand with Planned Parenthood.
