You had been dating Cedric for about 8 months now and he was all you could ever ask for. Cedric was popular among everyone at Hogwarts so you felt lucky to have him. Cedric did a lot for, and you got along with his family which was also a bonus.

The problem with dating Cedric was that people always tried to cause trouble. Whether it was girls flirting with him or other students with jealousy. In your head, you wanted to marry him abs have children but you were always worried about the future.

The day started nicely, you did your usual routine, threw on your robes and went to the great Hall to meet your friends and Cedric.

“Good morning, y/n”, greeted Cedric with a beaming smile. “Morning,” you reply smiling back at him. He puts his arm over your shoulder and pulls you towards him.

Dumbledore addressed the whole room with what was happening in Hogwarts and after you’d finished eating you all went on your way to first period. Your first class was potions, you’re good at potions so you head there with your friends.

Oddly today seemed to be dragging, or maybe it was Snapes teaching technique made today’s class boring. All of a sudden you hear whispers behind you in class and you feel confused, usually everyone speaks loudly but you got paranoid as you’re used to people talking about Cedric.

When class ended you decided to go back to the dormitory to read a book before next class. Cedric usually spent his time joking with his friends outside .

You head to sit on your bed and you see a little white note on your covers. Confused, you walk over to it and pick it up. The note read “Better enjoy Diggory whilst you can,” shocked, you rip in half and dispose of it. “Who wrote this?” You thought. A few people came to mind but you also thought it could be peeves playing a prank.

Next class went fairly quickly so at lunch time you went to where Cedric was sitting to ask him his opinion on the note. Cedric glanced at the remains of the note and scoffed “Just a jealous idiot,” you sigh “Yes but this has never happened, sure many girls want you Ced and I don’t blame them, but who seriously writes notes? This isn’t first year!!” Cedric shrugged , “Try not to worry about it y/n,” he narrowed his eyes at the other tables in the hall, “if anything happens I can just tell Dumbledore, plus I’m a prefect so I can keep look out at all times.” You shrugged and continued to eat lunch.

The week goes fast. But during the week you revive notes in the most weirdest of places. Someone knew where you were at all times.

It’s Saturday night and you’re just walking back from the girls bathroom. Just as you are walking down the hall you see peeves, “Peeves!” You call urgently, Peeves stops in his tracks “y/n,” the ghost comes closer, you fold your arms “Peeves, quit the pranks, I know it’s you.” Peeves went cold, “p-pranks? Well I don’t know what you’re talking about y/n.” You try to hold in a laugh, “oh really? Why am I finding notes in all places threatening to break me and Cedric up?”you ask. Peeves looked scared but remained silent, “I promise you y/n, it wasn’t me!” He insisted and floated off. Somehow finding the culprit wasn’t going to be easy.

A few more days pass and you still find notes in hidden places. Today was transfiguration class so you make your way. On your way you take a wrong turning and go the wrong way, making you late. You arrive about 5 mins late and the whole class stare in shock because you are NEVER late considering you’re in 6th year but with everything going on you were always flustered. “Way to go, y/l/n,” calls a familiar voice . Draco Malfoy. Malfoy was sometimes oddly nice to you which you found weird because he was known as a bully by a few people, mainly your friend Harry Potter . “I’m going to put you in pairs,” McGonagall said and you cross your fingers for it to be someone you’re friends with, Cedric isn’t in this class either so you couldn’t be paired with him. “Y/n you will be with Malfoy,” Your eyes widen, why did it have to be him? You always had an inside joke with yourself that Malfoy had a crush on you but you could never tell. “So. I see we’re working together.” Draco commented, you’d been partnered up with him in the past but he wasn’t fun to work with and never took things seriously. “Still with Diggory?” Dracos asks, “Well, yes.” You reply, could it be Draco sending you notes? No. How would he get to the common room? You wanted to confront him but this wasn’t the right time. When lunch came you were happy class was over because Draco barely did any work. You rush over to Cedric and suggest the idea of it being Draco who’s sending notes. “Impossible!” Cedric claims when you suggest it, “How could Draco get to the girls dormitory?” He asked, then all of a sudden it clicked, he could be getting Peeves to do all the work for him, ghosts weren’t allowed to go in rooms but peeves bent the rules during the day. Cedric then said “Well, I’m going to ask Peeves again.” It took a while to find Peeves since you’d been on the case of the hidden notes but when he was found Cedric rushed up to the ghost “Peeves, if you don’t come clean I’m telling Dumbledore.” peeves began to shake, “Okay okay , it wasn’t me, well it was but it wasn’t, Malfoy made me do it. He said if he didn’t he’d cast a spell on me!” Cedric didn’t even look shocked. That same day Draco was confronted by Cedric and he admitted he’d liked you for awhile and didn’t want to admit it. “I’m sorry y/n,” Draco said and that’s the first time you’d seen him apologetic. During the rest of the year things were awkward and Draco kept his distance and focused more on his studies.

I wasn’t expecting my last “rant” or whatever you call them to actually get likes so here’s a new one lol.

I saw a comment on tiktok like “people only like Cedric cos his Actor is Edward in Twilight “ I genuinely can’t stand these comments because I just think and? I don’t know why it matters a reason why someone would like a character it would bother someone?

I didn’t reply, but tbh I was close to saying I had actually watching Harry Potter before I ever did Twilight. I love twilight but Harry Potter would be my first choice. I remember watching Goblet of Fire as a child and even THEN crushing on Cedric. But people can’t like whatever character they want and should be judged for it .
