Battlefield 1 - Gameplay Series: Weapons

Acclaimed developer DICE have released a behind-the-scenes development video entitled ‘Weapons’.

Design Director Lars Gustavsson and his team explain their process in recreating the weapons of the period which were the peak of engineering for their time. Extensive research went into the detail of each weapon from the appearance and sound, to the weight and how they would be handled. 

However, the team are clear to state that they are not trying to recreate the past - they are using the time period as an inspiration and putting a modern perspective on it. Each weapon brings it’s unique character and personality to the battlefield which, we’re told, is much more up close and personal than pervious games in the Battlefield franchise.

The video title ‘Gameplay Series’ implies that there will be more of these development focussed videos on the way so keep your eyes open for more behind-the-scenes Battlefield content from the DICE team.

Battlefield 1 is available to pre-order on PS4 and Xbox One from The Game Collection now.
