Oh yeah… It’s Mario time!
Out of the way! Nintendo fanboy coming through! If like me you have been shaking with anticipation for another dose of everyone’s favourite plumber then look no further… He’ll be here in time for Christmas!
Here we have ‘Super Mario Odyssey’ in all its triple jumping glory. With the Nintendo Switch being hyped for its March 3rd release date, I’d be lying if I said I’m not upset about this title being unavailable for launch. However after watching 2:42 of this trailer, it’s done all it’s needed to and a whole lot more to tell me that it’s worth every painful second of the wait.
Although taking into account that I watched this trailer very early this morning, I did have to rub my eyes to process that Mario appears from the sewer and into what looks like the real world! Leaving the Mushroom Kingdom for city life never looked so good! However don’t be too alarmed, a massive feature of this title seems to be the ability to travel between worlds with Mario on his quest for the top of the flagpole.
Whilst vibrant and colourful by its Nintendo trademark, you can instantly see the vastly breathtaking improvements that have been made in order to portray their most iconic character in a levelled up resolution. Within seconds I was reminded of the endless fun I had as a kid with ‘Super Mario 64′ and in more modern times, ‘Super Mario 3D World’. This nostalgic feeling coupled with a brand new adventure to save Peach from Bowser has me beyond excited for Nintendo to drop the Bob-omb!
From my first look at this title it is safe to say that the only question marks overhead are those in Coin Blocks. Whilst the game has no official release date yet, keep your eyes peeled for more info which you’ll get from us as soon as it drops! Whomp!
