1. SONY STATE OF PLAY - 24TH SEPTEMBER 2019

Good morning game fans! Last night brought with it a brand new State of Play from Sony which showcased new and exclusive titles, as well as updates on some of the biggest releases coming this year and into the next. We’re pulling apart its highlights to discuss the sharpest points and continue the excitement of what is sure to be an absolutely huge period for Sony, and us as gamers…

    HUMANITY

Okay so kicking it off… Who else thought Lemmings? Definitely not just me. Enhance Games have created what looks to be a modern day puzzle platformer that will require quick wit in quicker time to help humanity flow safely onto the next path. There’s something in the eerily appealing footage which makes watching the flow of humans off the platforms and into the abyss quite relaxing. Definitely NOT the point of the game but I’m hooked already! Especially when the humans have laser guns. We’ll be keeping a keen eye on this one which is penned for 2020. Updates as we get them!

    CALL OF DUTY: MODERN WARFARE

It’s always nice to have a surprise but these broadcasts are hyped on titles we’re already, well, hyped about. This is where Infinity Ward’s latest entry in their blockbuster franchise needs no introduction! We’re gonna give it anyway. Modern Warfare. YES. From what is almost all story and no gameplay, we can still confidently deduce that this will be big. The recent beta feedback we’ve received is extremely positive and bodes well for the return of crispy clear HD Captain Price on current gen. Take a look below if you’re late to the party:

    DEATH STRANDING

We were hoping for a little more from this one initially. We couldn’t hide the disappointment that came from a trailer less than a minute long… That was until the Death Stranding Limited Edition PS4 Pro Console appeared on the screen and brought the “OOOOHS!” and the “AHHHHS” to the room! She’s a beauty ain’t she? That yellow pad had us in the palm of its hands and that’s quite a feat for a controller! What will undoubtedly be a beautiful game at launch gives the chance for gamers to experience it on its very own exclusive console. We’re sold.

THE LAST OF US PART II

Best for last (of us?) Yes. Yes it is. From what has been almost radio silence from Naughty Dog since the announcement of The Last Of Us Part II, yesterday our waiting paid off. We now have a release date!!!!! Sadly this date is not tomorrow but now we see it. Something to get out of bed in the morning for… Something to believe in. This is all a bit much isn’t it? Whatever. Ellie returns on 21st of February 2020 and just for the record - that’s 149 days. 149 sleeps. 3576 hours. We’re excited, can you tell? Take a look at the brand new trailer below and join us in this painful wait. Oh and JOELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

Pre-order with us right here at The Game Collection!

So there we have it! Our highlights of a stacked Sony-fest that’ll take some topping! Thanks for reading and know that we’re in the excruciating wait for these titles together.
