This is my 2016 #30for30crafting project.
The most consistent name for it I have seen is Chinese Diamond Painting. There were no instructions in English, but I’m pretty sure I’ve got the hang of it. (Those are probably the finishing instructions at the bottom, but I’ll probably never know unless I have any followers who can read that.)
The top picture is the full package. The second is all the little baggies of “diamonds.” They are little plastic pips that are molded to look like multi-faceted gems. They also get everywhere. You’ll also notice that one of the labels is not like the others. Thanks to the power of the Internet, I now know what the number 9 looks like.
I poked at it almost immediately when the kit came in, that’s the progress in the third picture. But I quickly discovered that a TV tray in a dimly lit room while watching anime is not an ideal work set up.
The last picture is my 30 minute progress for today. I still haven’t figured out the lighting; it’s slightly reflective, so my desk lamp made everything shiny and full of glare.
